i have this problem with my gearbox every morning when i finish work, its just impossible to change gears at times. 5th gear is the worst and everytime i change up to 5th it gets that grinding noise, but when im 5 mins from home its all ok , gearbox feels goods so i think it must be the cold mornings. took it to dealer they said they do tend to feel clunky at first until warmed up. anyboby have this issue in the mornings?

If it crunches or is stiff it's on it's way out.
Get the oil level checked or replaced, when drained if full of filings bad news.

I got mine replaced under warranty without any fuss. My problem was when I changed down from 4th to 3rd, it started to feel notchy and was worse when cold.
as steve says take it to Renault and ask them to change the gearbox oil and explain the problem. Make sure you take it to a good dealer.
