...after a year or so of faffing about (well I did have to save up  ) ive finally bought myself Trophy No. 131 (tup)

Bought from my local dealer at ware garages, who did me a fantastic deal both on the trophy and on my trade-in, its a one (female) owner, 4,600 mile, 55reg which has been left totally standard.

Pick up next weekend. Well chuffed, bring on the trackdays !!!

Quick question - who do you guys use for insurance ? Cheers.

Welcome clarki, well done for picking such a great car!

When you've got the little red rocket in your mitts, then post in the Owner's Register with '131' as your title, and you'll get promoted and another star. You can do this now if you like.

I think Greenlight Insurance are virtually unbeatable, unless you have four years no claims then Privilege are very cheap. I'm paying £497 with Greenlight and I'm 27 with three years no claims, 3 points and only three years driving experience. They're trackday friendly too, it just costs £50 a day and they double your excess (which is a fairly low £200 anyway) so this is the clincher for me. Most insurance companies will put the phone down if you mention tracking the car!

Good Luck with the purchase! :D

Yet another Essex based owner, there are quite a number of us now, welcome! :D

I'm insured with Admiral, paying around £700. I'm 24, with 2yrs no claims and my good old mum as a named driver - saved me £200!!!!!

Congrats on the purchase! :D

Hopefully see you at a track day or two later on in the year!

Insured with Privilege myself as they were the cheapest for me, but they don't offer any extra cover for trackdays like Greenlight do, so I end up paying more to insure my Trophy with specialist brokers for track outings, will be giving Greenlight a call when my insurance is up for renewal.

Cheers guys, looks like admiral is best for me.

I'm based in epping, essex - so will get along to any local meets and say hi. Or even if anyone fancies a run out at the weekends then drop me a line.

Admiral were best for me.... just don't whatever you do have a crash... thats when they're not so good :(

I've heard that about quite a few of the larger well known insurers - what was up with Admiral - poor customer service? Slow to deal with your claim? Something else?

Are you still with them Gareth or did you change over to someone else?

Well picked the car up saturday and had a great BH weekend zooming around everywhere. Unbelievable compaired to the 1.2 (of course) and still over 300 miles from a tank of feul :D

Amazing how many approving nods you get from drivers of much higher profile cars, 911s, TVRs, Lotus', etc. Seems they like my choice, which is good.

Any essex folks fancy a get together in the near future - novelty still hasnt worn off yet

Nor will it, even 13 month later!

Strange, I don't get these approving nods, normally just angry gesticuation.

most certainly up for an Essex meet - saw Gazza at the weekend at Goodwood and we did both agree that it was high time we sorted out a meet. :)
