Yeh saw this when it was first shown, don't believe this is the true outcome either. Plus the front of the 200 look sooo ugly. :|

Figure the 200 should have won by more?

I was in a Renault showroom recently and they had the Cup version in metallic silver. It actually looks a lot better in the flesh. Came with the Recaro seats and I have to say those are the best seats I sat in, comfortable and very supportive and the driving position was spot on. I like it and would consider moving to a 200, if only I had the dosh!!

no the 182 was actually quicker but the 200 was scripted to win - it's been on cliosport - the car was borrowed by a member on there and they left the script in the car lol....

Yup exactly, and Renault say the Trophy is 1 second quicker than the Cup so gives an idea how quick our little beasts are :D

As much as i loved the Trophy and i do genuinely think it is the best car i'll ever own for the style of driving i like, i would be very surprised if it was genuinely quicker than a 200 round a track.

My experiences of the 200 are quite limited admittedly, but i do think it has a noticeable amount more grip than the Trophy, and it does handle extremely well (all be it with a little less excitement (in my opinion))

After a day of owning my trophy, my friend who had his 200 with cup pack couldn't keep up when on a blast in the lakes. Not scientific I know, but he couldn't believe how quick I could get away from him. Admittedly it was really twisty so could be down to bravery/stupidity, but I wasn't pressing on cos I didn't know the limits and his car was only on 800 miles so not fully worn in but........

Not wanting to disappoint....

Meg R26.R = 1.29.0 Peak 102.3
200 Cup = 1.32.0 Peak 97.9mph
Trophy = 1.34.0 Peak 96.5mph
BMW123d = 1.34.0 Peak 97.0mph (!)
197 Cup = 1.34.2 Peak 96.5mph

I wouldn't read too much into magazine lap times it depends on so many factors.

those evo times are very suspect - i've always said it. 1. different drivers, 2. how can the Diesel meggy have the same time as the trophy yet have less torque, power and be heavier? I doubt any increased grip will compensate for that.....

I know they have to be taken with a pinch of salt, as apart from the the initial set of new times done on the same day at Bedford with the same driver (John Barker), there will be all kinds of contributing factors.
Still cannot see why the 200 cannot be quicker than the 182.

Because this is a Trophy forum and even a Veyron would trail in its wake of course.

I left one standing the other day.. :lol: .. It was on a transporter at the time .. :wink:
