Whatever the black strip is, it's most certainly not a standard feature of the Trophy - have never seen it before..

Looks quite keenly priced for the mileage. I like the line about possibly the best example around - clearly they haven't seen some of the low mileage minters on this site! - from the pictures it doesn't look incredibly clean?

I would certainly have a look though. Make sure you check the roof carefully for any signs of rubbing, scratching or even dents from the roof rack.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the info, we've struck a deal at £6200 so hoping that the car is in good condition! Its had its 36,000 mile change done early (just done) so hoping the car is in good condition!!

Ive asked if the front suspension is in good health, any knocks, bangs e.t.c

How can i find this out when i go for a test drive ??? turning the wheel on the spot or when moving e.t.c ???

Very good price, as to the dampers check for any oily leakage from the top of the remote reservoir and as to driving it i've heard that if they are gone it will give a wollowy(?) ride as to very firm.

Looks to me more like a bad fitting door, too close at the front ad not far enough at the back, rather than a black strip???

Could be black strips hiding overspray from a repair maybe?? Check the bodywork carefully.

As hoolio said check for oily residue on the shocks and try pushing down on the front of the car it should be nice and firm. if you can kind of bounce it up and down, you need to try and barter £500odd for cost of re-furb and hastle etc.
Good luck!

The strips are to stop chipping the edges of the doors in closes spaces when opening the doors!

And what a weird looking spoiler on it?

Great so the strips are to prevent the owner from mindlessly flinging open their doors
I'd surely hope no Trophy owner would be so careless

Would have thought you'd have know about that, that's part of the new wing attachment.

Make sure you remove them before you buy it, i bought an old escort cab years back that had something similar, got it home, pulled them off to reveal a tidy bit of rust! :(

Excellent the paintwork looks like it needs a decent clean possibly with a clay bar as it worked wonder on my car and then just enjoy the car!

Possibly get it out on track at a Renaultsport day at Bedford Autodrome to learn the car too.

Good luck

Nice one, like already said i would check the roof for marking and under the door strips. Check the rear disks for wear also, and if you want to go totally mad check the exhaust hangers rubbers for wear, if these are badly worn like mine were it can lead to the centre section of the exhaust sagging where it connects to the cat, eventually this may split the cat where its clamped to the exhaust, as mine did. Only about £30 for new centre section and both rear hangers.
Also ask how heavy and how often its carried stuff on the roof rack as this could add to damper wear if its been constantly driven about with stuff on it.
Good its just been serviced and belt done, :) .

I've seen this car about quite a few times (well a trophy with a roof rack in the area the car is for sale so i'm assuming it's the same car) and it's always looked real clean.
I haven't ever seen anything on the roofrack so often wondered why it's on there all the time!!!
