clio cup racers induction??

How come the clio cup race cars have the filter bolted straight onto the inlet manifold? Ive seen 4 now and all have this set up.
Doesnt this cause heat soak?
Has anyone tried this on their Trophy, with what results?

They are ex motorsport vision cars apparently.
Still though they must have massive heat soak.

No, the filter was bolted straight onto the inlet, no pipe.
