Best he would do is €600 delivered to UK or €550 per set if all bought together and collected from Calais. Started off wanting €650 delivered so guess that’s something.
I can’t vouch for how legitimate this all is but he seems decent enough. I’m thinking best option is for each interested person to contact directly and purchase on a per person basis.
A group buy won’t get a better deal so no point attempting to do one. Up to someone in need to take the plunge and see what :-/

Oh and I also tried to ask that if we were to do a group buy would he send an initial set cheaper just so we can confirm all is ok with them and he said no.
Thanks for the work you have done in relation to purchasing these Sachs , but I will be opting out as it does not sound too promising him not sending you a set to authentic them as genuine Trophy Sachs,

This is probably a stupid question.
The issue is that these dampers might not be genuine Trophy dampers,if their not what else might they be for?

If they are dampers for the Twingo I'm assuming that their not going to fit/work on the Trophy?
Or will they still fit but the handling will then be different?
Again apologies if all this makes no sense...I'm not really a damper expert.

Lol, do you really think someone is going to send over a set of shocks so that they can authenticated and lead to a potential sale of 14 pairs of shocks? Your not buying 10,000 units on the back of a sample.
Last seen at Renault for £1800 a side.... a long time ago, 600 euros is a steal. If it’s a con then rely on your pay pal or credit card to sort it. Frankly at that price drive to France if your that bothered.
Twingo ones had better scraper sealed. In fact some trophy owners modify theirs to twingo spec. Even if their 54mm you could get that fixed to work.
One things for sure when they’re run out world wide one day that’s that. When your shocks have been refurbed for the 5th time and BG say they are now unserviceable that’s that.

As I said above I didn’t ask for a free set I asked for a discount on an initial set which I offered €500 to give it a go, on the basis I was able to get a group buy list for the other 13. As under £500 I figured it’s worth a try but I don’t actually need them so would have sold on if they had come and been fine.
I didn’t ask if I could pay by PayPal but that may be an option. I must say I’m not familiar with how that works as don’t have an account. Also unable to pay by card to him as an individual and bank transfer will have no protection. So my worries were on the back of just a bank transfer to a person and not a company and I personally felt anything over £500 to me was a little too much to risk; but that’s me. Others may feel differently and £500 not too much to risk.
My mechanic is planning a ring trip but not till the summer so that idea is out the window. He also only offered this option if all were bought cash; not individually.
Completely agree with you and I would advise anyone with a car to at least consider a spare set for that reason. If I had the money I’d buy them all and store them but sadly I don’t lol.

He claims to work for a company with a branch in France - what company, and where in the Netherlands?
On the basis he's unwilling to tell you there is something wrong. Traders are usually keen to sell. He may simply be adding some margin himself after purchasing them from his employer; fair enough. However I'd quite like a receipt and if we can find the actual owners we might be able to purchase them even more cheaply.
I'd be happy to contact him directly as advised.

He may have invented the french stock to exactly avoid what you're trying to do. I really hope he's making some money otherwise what is the point and so what. You find a guy who's selling Trophy new pair at €600 that you'll never find anywhere else and you're asking for invoice, place he's buying them from and so on. Get real guys!
Any 182 cup can use those, the market can be huge and Holland is a large Renault market. Seems to me that you wait any longer and this stock which has reduced from 20 to 14 sets may be gone in a matter of days. Just consider the guy as an individual, ask him for detailed pictures and go for it.
He could have advertised them at €800 and you would still be wishing to buy so go for €600, forget group buy. The guy is on facebook, he's a pilot for a small holland racing team, he's associated with a Renault Sport specialist (does he work there? That's what he says in his FB profile), you use some insured payment (paypal, bank transfer) that leave traces, you can contact the guy, I'm not saying it's 100% guaranteed but at least you have enough data if things go wrong.

By receipt/invoice I mean proof of him purchasing them/shipping or similar. Apologies if that was misinterpreted.
I'm also happy to treat him as an individual. However, detailed pictures mean nothing. He may simply not send what's pictured.

Experience tells me that if someone is unwilling to accept PayPal/secure payment, or be open and honest about where items are from, how they now have them etc. they may have something to hide. Not that I know any of this yet. He may be a lovely bloke.
Given he works for/manages a RenaultSport specialist why not sell them though the business? Should he wish to use the business he works for to procure parts he then sells privately that's fine; however I can't see the business owner being best pleased they're missing out on sales.

Many thanks for the details RS-Editions. His English isn't the greatest is it, better than my Dutch. Maybe like most Dutch people I know, he's simply being brutally direct and blunt in his responses.

Yes exactly, he also said he had a couple of V6 spoilers. So I thought sod it I’ll get one of those as it’s less money to risk.
So I sent a message asking to buy one and he said he would have to wait till he next goes to France to send it and that he would only accept direct bank payment no PayPal.
