Optimiz acces has a set of Sachs dampers with 54 mm and offers for a group purchase only to modify them to 60 mm by a professional miling shop in oder they will be ok for clio trophy.
For the moment the twice front dampers are 750 euros .

Might be a good option for you

It might be worth you finding out/understanding in what way the 6mm difference happens.

Is the bottom hole 6mm lower?
Is the top hole 6mm higher?
is it split between the two?

You probably need to get all that from the hubs of a trophy vs the hubs on a twingo. I might be over thinking it but sus geometry is all about small adjustments .

We had discused with optimiz about it and the différence is only on the upper hole.
So the opération of milling have to ne done only on this one.

dablk, I was about to ask the same.

Yannick, not that I disagree or am suggesting that you have not already checked everything but 2 measurements are missing in your drawing (spring holder to bolt axis and both bolt axis to strut axis) as strut support on cup/non cup hub may fall on different planes.

I have a spare sachs, twingo R1 60mm bolt spacing of the group buy. I did not have my original sachs on hand but we know, as several here including myself installed them, that they are the same as the original trophy's. Here is the result. I did not measure the spacing between the plates but I suppose you verified this already.

If only drilling a hole make them as originals, your proposal will be a life saver for anyone who misses the group buy, great find.

PS: the difference you stated in your schematic 13.5mm vs. 34mm seems huge, is it really it?
I was also wondering (my bottom picture) if the hole is to be drilled vertically as you sketched it or along the bolt center axis, difference may be small but will affect camber.

good job, i totaly agree with you philfree, if you are sure about your cotation, i propose to send all the specification ( yours and mine) to optimiz acces in order they check them directely on dampers end confirm if it's ok or not.
if you are not sure, on my side or someone else, i propose to check mine with digital caliper in order to compare (several mesure allow to be sure)
after that , we will able to make a technical specification to send to optimiz(y)

Hi Yannick, I actually not measured those values directly as it would be next to impossible to fall right unless without proper tools. Instead I deducted from easier to take measurements I took with proper caliper and ruler as below. I would suggest you ask for same with optimiz (but don't give them values, send them my bottom blank schematic ;)).

no problem i will send the second one picture by email to optimiz, i would juste show you what i find directly on my dampers because there are some little difference on quotation, i suggest to keep in mind an acceptbale tolérance from optimiz mesure (may be more or less 1 mm)

Although plates may be sized differently, soldered slightly higher, in the end, after calculation, the values that count are the same as in my very very first drawing except for the upper hole being 1mm apart. This is not insignificant because it gives 1° of extra camber on your set. Let me redo that measurement and please redo it as well and also verify that your 96.5mm value is the same in line with the bottom or with the upper hole. On peut aussi continuer en MP en français si tu veux.

Hi. If we can verify their suitability I too would be up for a group buy.

Depending upon the size of the group buy, would we be able to get a sample maybe?

Surly these could all be wielded up or filled in in some way and new holes drilled.

Any machine shop worth there salt would be able to do this
