I've decided to finally upgrade my front brakes. Having looked on Yozzasport, i discovered that the Original RenaultSport Front Discs are more expensive than the after market Brembo Plain Cut front brake discs by £40. Does anyone know why that is, i'd find it hard to believe that the original discs are better than the Brembos.

I'm tempted to go for the GreenStuff Clio 172 / 182 Front Brake Package inc. Moquip Braided Hoses package found on Yozzasport. Any views/opinions would be appreciated.

Cheers Guys

Cue are the ds2500's or pagids ideal for road use?

Most on here seem to have gone for either of these two (me, the RS4-2's) which are fantastic, think the DS2500 are a slightly cheaper option.

I have the Pagid blues and can report they are exceptionally good, they're even OK when cold but better when warmed up. Mine squeel quite a lot, sometimes when i'm not even applying the brake...I think that's just cos not enough copper grease was appled when fitting.
I can't comment on the DS2500 as I've not experienced them, it's a question of whether the Pagid Blues are worth the premium over the Ferodo's??? I highly doubt it if it's just for road use.

Might go for the same package but with the mintex pads instead of the EBC's.

Anyone know where i can get the Mintex M1144 pads for a resonable price?

cheers

GSF maybe a good shout, not sure if they do Mintex. the 1144's are aggressive for pure road use i've been told.

I've had the 1188's on and they were pants. Worse still are the extreme's i've been running on the rear, so my view of mintex has been tainted some what.

I have the 'cheaper' set up shall we say.

Brembo HC's, lines & DS2500 pads.

Faultless & no squeals :-#

I know everyone slates them on the previous compound but I swear by EBC Greenstuff pads, Brembo Max Discs. Goodridge hoses and Willwood HT fluid :)

I have Brembo HC, Pagid Blues, lines and Motul 600. Brilliant, best brake set-up I have ever had on any car. Equally competent on road or track. Little bit noisy at times but then all performance pads are IMHO.
