Boot Latch

When I lock my car I have started to hear a funny noise from the boot lock. There is a U shaped piece of metal that the lock latches onto, should this be fixed down?

As I can wobble it back and forth very easily.

Mine makes a funny noise and the catch does wobble. My noise sounds like two components scraping together & I've cured it by wrapping a bit of insulation tape round said bit of metal.

Metal eyelet is supposed to "waggle"

Thanks guys thats what i wanted to know. I wont go into the noise it makes but it's quite comical, whether its down to the "wobble" or "waggle" I dont know :lol:

Mine was making that noise and has now stopped locking. It's going in tomorrow to get it sorted!

Yep same here, when the noise stopped it stopped locking. New lock motor required. :roll:
