Best value no-compromise road tyres?

Which tyres offer the best value & performance in 205/45/16?

I only use the T for weekend fun so road noise & wet weather capabilities are of no concern, I just want great performance & value for money. Of course, they have to be road legal too!

Suggestions & recommendations most appreciated.

Federal RSR's are a very good tyre especially for the money

I just bought and fitted some federal RSRs this weekend to replace my PE2s. £76 each delivered from my tyres. I'm impressed so far. Really stiff side walls gives nice responses and feel. Instant high levels of grip too, as soon as they were fitted.

Potential downsides are that they will probably wear quickly and there are some reports of the tread splitting - although I hope not as spectacularly as the f1 pirellis at silverstone!

3 trackdays so far on Feds - really impressed. Less noisy than my R888 Toyo's but I wouldn't run either as normal road tyres.

Parada 2's good value tyre. Just don't go out if its wet. Or the ad08's for a better quality tyre and much better wet grip.

For Road use I bought Bridgestone RE002 Adrenalin.
I cannot recommend the Federal RSR 595 for everyday
use or in the wet after using them 2000miles. I
n the wet there is only a Little bit of
grip. The Bridgestones are very quiet and the sidewalls
are a bit soft but cross country pace is impressive
when they are warm. In the wet they they are very Good,
too. Not used them in track yet.
if I could buy again I would choose Michelin Pilot Sport 3
the W specification or try a Bridgestone RE050 in
215/45/16.

A more specified reply hence I could not edit my post:

For Road use I bought Bridgestone RE002 Adrenalin.
The Bridgestones are very quiet and the sidewalls
are a bit soft but cross country pace is impressive
when they are warm. In the wet they they are very Good,
too. Not used them in track yet. So in total they are
a good choice, especially the steering feels sharp and there
is a lot cornering grip. The Adrenaline was developed
for small to medium sized hot hatches. So a good tire.

If I could buy again I would choose Michelin Pilot Sport 3
the W specification or try a Bridgestone RE050 in
215/45/16. Just to have a comparison to the Adrenaline.

I cannot recommend the Federal RSR 595 for everyday

and there is no driving fun left. In the dry of course they grip
very well but not so much better than the Adrenalins that

Stuck a set of R1R's on mine today give them 10-15 miles and they appear to be superb ... obviously no idea what they will be like long term but heres to finding out

have now seen the federals @ 77 so a little gutted but I like in west Wales and its always wet so think Ive done the right thing

Probably a good choice. Let us know how you get on with the R1-R's.

The Federals are not the best in the wet. They are fine in standing water but not that good cornering or accelerating out of bends.

I will be trying to get hold of some AD08's if they are available when the time comes!

I'm going down the Ad08 route, but the new compound (Ad08R) is expected to be for sale in the UK from the end of August 2013.

If I can wait, I will, but I'm impatient so I might end up going for current Ad08s (assuming they haven't all sold out ahead of the new tyre arriving).
