So I took my trophy down to Mark fish motorsport today for its 24K service and a geometry check. he phoned me up an hour ago and reported a 3/4 of a degree difference in camber angles between each side, so im glad I asked him to check this.

This is the more worrying problem with my car. Apparently the is a locating peg on the rear brake pads that makes sure they are alligned with the piston. On my car the peg was not alligned with the recess, causing the pad to be at an angle permanetly. Mark says that it had almost warn down to the metal. He seemed to think that it had came out of the factory like this. But as I havent owned the car from new I cant say.

Cant wait to pick her up, Im shocked how excited I am. Almost like buying her all over again :p

I was on the phone to Mark Fish last week regarding suspension upgrades for the trophy and mentioned the 24k service, and he said about £200 for it.

Im in Peterborough all weekend for a car show next weekend and rang up Angelworks which is half an hour from my hotel for the whole weekend and they are doing my inlet manifld and service....charging £150 for the 24k service which I am happy with.

After a service and new inlet manifold, im assuming the car will be feeling quick :D

That seems the done thing at Angelworks, get work done and get Ben to do service done too.

Wish there was a few specialists up North that cater for everything.

Looking forward to my inlet, to complement my exhaust. Brum Brum

PMurray in leeds mate - I think AWT and them have some business partnership going on... PM do the electronics and ben does the mechanical.

Once upon a time they were a main service dept. but they split to go it alone. I'd highly recommend them.

So the totally damage was 300 pounds. It sounds steep but it is deffinatley worth it. I must of spent about an hour with him as he explained everything they did. The rear pads were in such a state because they hadn't been located properly on the piston. One pad had less than 1mm at one end and 6mm on the other end. The camber has been fixed, so it is now exactly as Renault tried to make it. the toe was also tottaly wrong.

Can I feel the difference, hell yeah. Mark said i would see a slight difference but Im well chuffed. It has stopped the slight pull to one side i was getting under breaking and under hard acceleration it feels better too. Now its much less likely to want veer off in the wrong direction. is that how you spell veer???

just spent the last 40mins making it all shinny too. As i had a treat of my new waffle weave drying towel I got from 7mat waiting for me when i got home. cheers mate

Good to hear that Graham, I remember you saying about the veer (yes, that's the correct spelling - few people realise there is a spell checker built in to most web browsers!) under braking. Glad you've got it sorted. I was very happy when I found out my suspension geometry was all as it should be.

Looks like MF is the place fo 154 when she hits 24k.. not for a while yet so I have time to put a little money aside!!

Graham, as you're still running standard brakes, do you find that you get brake fade when stopping from high speed?
