Hello all. Wasn't quite sure if there is an introduction section (unless im being dumb) but Hi :)

Needing some advice as im not in the slightest bit familiar with these engines, ill try not to make this an essay.

My 172 Cup developed a misfire which turned out to be deemed as a 'multiple misfire' replaced, plugs, coil pack, leads having had no joy i had a fuel rail with injectors kindly donated to me and this worked, ran on all 4 for a little while then started with a light misfire at low revs (running on 4 when opened up) then annoying turned back into what feels like the multiple misfire again.

Today tried a quick test of elimination whilst the car was running removing the plugs from the injectors then removing the HT leads from the coil pack (as i suspect of the 2nd hand injectors) but the odd thing was that it got worse as i pulled the connector off then smoothed out when pulled back in (but still had the misfire) this happened on all 4, so i could not identify which one was the problem cylinder.
Sorry for the long first post but im not sure what my next move is, any help would be appreciated greatly!

Oh forgot to add, done a compression test and 3 were 180psi and 1 being 100psi, massive difference i know but still in the green.

I do think this might be related but it ran fine for a short while!

think you need to be on the cliosports website :p this is for trophys

Nice way to make new members feel welcome.

BTW, this section is named "Other Clios", which if I'm not mistaken a Clio 172 Cup is......

Anyway, back on topic. Clio 89, I would recommend you pay a specialist a visit and get your car plugged into a diagnostics code reader. That hopefully will allow you to identify what is causing the misfire as it could be a number of things.
