Steve, I did say 'worked' on...was a technician from '79 (eek) until '86 and worked for Renault and BMW dealerships. The course and experience stands me in pretty well when buying so was worthwhile.
I used to work on a 2002 Turbo, although...
Popped down to my local shell garage to get some beer and i noticed a bright red 197 parked in front of me. I didn't have a camera but my friend took a photo on his phone.

What is the most amount of miles you have ever got out of one tank of Fun Juice in your Trophy's?
I have driven like an absloute saint for a week in a quest to find out. . . .
And considering i do a lot of stop-start journeys with my work, i think i have done quite well. But before i...
I just realised the website was one year old on the 7th July. No prizes for guessing why there wasn't a big celebration that day. Nik, you're obviously not from London to launch a website on that day.
Who's got the oldest Trophy on here? And who has done the most miles?

Had the 1st 12000 miles service on friday, luckily i didnt pay for the service because when i picked it up the guys in the garage had spilt petrol in the car and it stank, so as a good will gesture they picked up the cost.
Also, any ladies/gents had the problem with the spray paint rubbing...

I took some time off work, was supposed to be doing some sensible stuff round the place. Kind of got side tracked, but said side track may of more interest to this forum.
Following from previous threads about camber adjustment amongst other things.

The other day my petrol gauge was reading just under the 1 bar, no petrol stations for quite a while and couldn't be arsed to turn around and find a closer one. Got me thinking what was the best MPG anyone has had? Excluding motoways & dual carriageways. On some nice twisty roads I managed 42mpg...
If you are "modding" your car and adding BHP or using it on track then consider your oil choice carefully as the stock manufacturers recommended oil will not give you the protection that your engine requires.
A standard oil will not be thermally stable enough to cope with higher temperatures...
Hi guys.
I currently own a 320bhp 1600cc Escort RS Turbo. It is a truly awesome car in very many ways, but I am considering moving on. It is so difficult as that car gives me SUCH a buzz to drive.
Problem is, it's starting to show its age and is getting to the point where I may have to...

What a nice sunny day it was today. An ideal time to say, test drive an Audi TT.
I nipped to town to buy a spice mill today (for masala grinding) and saw so many cars on trade plates, presumably on test drives. I'd left my car on the road, and it was baking when I got back in, so I popped...
Obeying the sticker on my filler cap saying "Super Unleaded Recommanded (sic)", I only use super, which can take some finding out here. As hyb will attest, most filling stations round here only sell hay  .
What's everyone else's policy on fuel type? Super only? Super sometimes? 95 octane?
Woo Hoo, 10,400 miles of fun fun fun driving. Only a few small problems, (being hit up the arse and the dodgy sensor). But all in all i love the Trophy. Will be staying for a long while.
Should reach 12,000 by next week. Nice trip to France on Thursday. lol
Quite apt this month...

FAT SMUG TWAT SLAGS OFF STUFF ON INTERNET
The car industry was in crisis this week with news that everything they do is rubbish, at least according to the sneeringly critical opinions of a fat nerd who posts on an internet forum. Chris Titt, better known by...
Hi, first of all I just want to introduce myself to you. May name is Max, I am from germany
and I own a 172 Mk1 first registered in March 2000. I have had this car for six years now and she still is in good condition with her 52 thousand miles or 82 thousand kilometers on the clock. She...
Guys - I am thinking to spend the Easter holiday long weekend in Germany (and possibly squeeze in a lap at the Nurburgring!).
Does anyone have experience driving there? How long and how much (petrol etc.) do you roughly estimate the trip to be?
Cheers for any advice...
O.
Edit...
After months of waiting our local Tesco's have just got the 99 RON fuel in. Since I got the Trophy in October it's always ran on Shell Optimax so thought I'd stick a tank full of Tesco's special in. Bloody hell, if you can find a Tesco's that sell it then stick a tank full in, I burnt £25...

Here's the latest from Ben Scammell;
Dear Pipeline Card Member,
This has been a very exciting couple of week for Pipeline. I did my first ever TV interview - and it went out on ITN news at 6.30 and 10.30. They...
As per the topic titled, my intermittent problem with my water/coolant temp gague have now developed into a constant issue, and now the car does not ever register the correct temp - which at least should make it easier for the technicians to identify the problem!
Will get the car booked in...

does anyone have the cd rom from renault advertising the clio trophy? no's 1&2 are featured on the disc. it looks like they may have their dials in kph as the main numbers instead of mph. at one stage you get a clear shot of the mile-ometer on one of them, and it's well in the 4 figures. i...

Hey fellas!
Just bought No. 323 off Eugene.
It's got a few more miles on it than i would've liked but I needed a car for work next week so I had to get a move on.
My last car was a Subaru 03 WRX PPP. It was a company car and I've just changed jobs so had to give it back. I had it from new...
