I use a Flexi-blade to get rid of the water then get the rest off with a Maguires Micro-fibre cloth. Works well. Have a look on the autoexpress website under products and the best are listed in there. I'd still avoid washing in full sun though, nothing worse.

I've had the same noise on my Trophy, a slight judder almost on full lock. At first I thought it was the icy road surface but it's still doing it in dry conditions. Had a go in m wife's 182 and that does the same so it can't be anything to worry about. Wouldn't mind if the lock was excessive...
