ERR CD

My cd player seems to have gone off my taste in music and refuses to play anything!

When I insert a cd or press the input to select cd it just beeps and ''ERR CD'' appears on the screen

Any idease welcome, a visit to the local dealer is not something I enjoy, i'd almost rather listen to Scott Mills for the drive home :!:

sounds like the optics need re-tuning, the laser could be on the way out or have shifted slightly.

Have you tried a number of cd's? Just wondering if it might be down to the media being used - e.g. some cd players can be a bit iffy depending on the condition or type of discs used (thinking CDR's here) - just something to consider before doing something rash like visiting a Renault dealer or god forbid tuning in to listen to Scott Mills

It'a actually the same cd that i've been listening to for ages (bored to hell of it but too lazy to change) so it looks terminal me thinks.


Tried a cleaner on it last night but no joy.
