Would rather run a new set of cup dampers than something that has sat around for ten years. As frayz said what are the seals going to be actually like?
My car has Koni adjustable on rear and have not messed on with them so will try a set of cup next to see how they are. Rik who builds the Sachs says there's nothing in it between the two really.
The kid is full of shite and will say anything to sell them. He told me they were replacements he got a year ago. I asked how old they were as there's rust on them and thought they must of been fitted.
Yeah that's what I mean I would pay the 350 if it was actually a year since they were manufactured but how long will a 10 year old damper last even if it has just sat in a garage?
Yeah been in touch about Dampers as they don't look brand new he says they are and are a year old. I asked lowest price and payment method to which he says only direct transfer and 350 minimum which is mental money and not a lot of protection if they go missing
The 200 just had a lower ratio box I think so felt a little punchier accelerating. I test drove a 197 with everything on and it only had 7k on clock before I ordered my 200 back in the day. I think I can remember it wasn't night and day as the car is pretty much the same but I got a deal that...
Cars are more about lap times now I feel so are far more composed which is good when you are lashing on around a track but i feel makes them a less exciting or fun car in the real world. I bet you will love the 200 too and its just my opinion at the end of the day
Yeah done the same owning a 200 cup and 275 cup s and both have something missing. The Trophy has that feeling like you need to drive it where a lot of new hatches just feel to complete- composed.
Exactly what I thought when I got offered a new pair while mine were getting refurbed. Do I buy them put them on not knowing when they were actually built and get a failure in a few hundred miles so never bothered.
Yeah possibly could go up in value but considering I will have spent 2k doing shocks, springs, quieter exhaust, clutch and other bits and bobs in a year i wouldn't get it back. I bought it as i sold my first to a friend because I had just bought a house and wanted a new motorbike at the time.
