vin numbers

is it a bad thing that renault print the cars vin number on that small plate at the bottom of the windscreen?
can anyone obtain information on our cars (alarm / immob details) with this number along with the car's reg which they will get at the same time no doubt...
i was thinking about putting a bit of black card over mine just in case...
am i worrying too much...?

Scary thread that on Cliosport...can't believe it was stolen with a key, despite the owner still having both keys! Guess it must have been a dodgy employee at the dealership, which is really worrying :shock:
