hey guys, just got my car back from the dealers as needed a sensor changing. i asked for a quote on my next service (36000) and couldnt belive they wanted just over £600, does this sound a lil bit overpriced? does anyone know of a good reno specialist in the south (Sussex) area? cheers for any info :D

is the sensor cost included in the price??? still sounds really dear!

I thought my girlfriends cupped 182FF 36K service was a rip off at £370..........a bog standard 36K service should be in the region of £250 ish. We learnrt our lesson the hard way.

ring round as many dealership/specialists as you can.......it pays to do your homework

36k service shouldn't really be more than around the £150 mark, it's just a filter and oil change svs, no belts etc needed.

sorry yes the aux belt would add £100 quid so you should be looking at £250-£300 for 36k...

Cue what is the Aux belt?

My reason for asking is that i am approaching the 36k miles and had the cam belt changed at 28k by Renault when they fixed a rocker cover oil leak. The Renault paperwork states they had to order and fit a cam belt kit. If that kit includes the aux belt, then there is no point me replacing it again so soon.

Cheers for you help

Nick

auxiliary belt, cam belt or timing belt is a different belt, i would have hoped they'd change both as it would make sense to but i doubt they have....

I'd double check with them.

Just been quoted £632.86 for this service by Wych Hill Renault.

No way it's worth that! Is Rentech the only option for me? I'm based in London/Surrey.

I travelled from Essex to RenTech - I would say it's well worth the journey. They're really great guys - personal service goes a long way in my book.

i know you guys rate rentech highly but can anyone tell me if they use original reno parts ? the reason im asking is the aux belt kit is £125 +VAT RRP and book time is around 4.5 hours to fit.plus the service costs. how do rentech make any profit.
im not knocking them just asking the question.

if you've got the price from a reno dealer you have to bear in mind that Rentech buy from the importer not from main dealer - Reno stick a large mar-up on everything they sell to the end public.... i.e a splitter cost pence to make they charge out at £130+vat, when a carbon fibre one is only £110.
