65mph cruise, control on, 37-40mpg, mine does that every 50 mile journey to and from work.

Regular use 32-33mpg.

Other than relying on the on-board computer has anyone actually calculated mpg during their ownership? I wonder how reliable the indicated efficiency is.

Showing my ignorance here, I always thought the colder air (with greater concentration of oxygen) would mean more efficient burn and better mileage.

You are right but with a colder/denser inlet charge the engine requires more fuel to get the correct AFR via lambda sensors etc.the effect is more power.

Ever felt that your car goes better on a wet foggy morning than on a hot sunny summer afternoon?
