Lightweight Wheels and Tyres.

I know a couple of people here run 15s for the track. What wheels are they and what weight are they per corner?
Also what Tyres are you running?

My current line of thinking is to buy some 15inch Corse's and put some R888s on.

I run 15" corses and R888's. Perfect for me - i've heard good things about OZ racing wheels also - they can save you up to 0.5 per corner but i'm suspicious as the corses are as light as FIA racing reg's allow so the the oz wheels must be rule breakingly light for competition use....

tyres are nearly as good as slicks when warm.

Very good tyre, but more expensive than r888.

Pretty sure the only track orientated tyres you can get in the right size for the Trophy wheels are Kumho V70 or Hankook RS2, which have some good reports from what I've read about them. Would love to have another set of Trophy rims with Kumho's on them for trackdays, but it's out of my price range, 15's are a much more cost effective way of running trackday tyres on the Trophy.

What's profile tyres do you need on 15's, and what about offset? I don't really know what it is, or why running the wrong offset is a bad thing?

superleggras and ultraleggras are probably the lightest you would find.

if i was running a set of 15's i would run black TD Pro race 1.2's on R888's.

There is no way you can run 215 on a Clio as they rub a bit on 205 so I would advise 195

I've never had mine rub on the stock 205s!! I guess you mean when lowered?

No the R888 195 is the same size as a 205 road tyre PM AMM he's had rubbing on his trophy with the 205 R888

I have been running R888s for trackdays and the grip is much better that the OE tyres - mine are 205/40 17- no rubbing and they work in the wet too

you can get them for around £400 the last time Iooked - I think demon tweeks were willing to do a deal on some but this was going back to around April time.
