Gearbox noises

Hi. Iv had my clio 182 for about 4 weeks now. It has around 22000 miles on the clock on a 55 plate. As iv been driving around iv noticed a whirring noise from the gearbox when driving along in any gear which gets loader when i accelerate. its quite annoying and i just wanted to know if this is normal, if anyone else has experienced this and/or whether it is a sign of any damage to the gearbox? are you sure it's from the gearbox and not tyre noise? Check the gearbox oil - if it's low or has particulates in it that could be an obvious one....

I don't think it's a common fault - i've not noticed it, well when I put my track wheels on I get a whirring noise but that's the R888's as they are very noisy so could be tyre related.
