fully intend to run the trophy for another few years so at the moment i'm wondering if i should go for the extended warranty next year when the 3 years are up ?
mainly due to the costs of the shocks should one fail...will the extended warranty cover this...i asked at the renault garage they said they would send me out all the extended warranty info...needless to say it hasnt arived.
anybody else inquired about this or know the definitive answer?

oh, and by the way the renault spider in the newcastle dealers finally sold last week...at last

Depends on normal conditions; I.e is the issue wear and tear? If so then it won't be covered.

umm...as I've just posted on Aah Sanity thread, it seems the substandard design and cheap manafacture of interior trim components is not covered by the warranty either.

there's only two reasons i'd take out extended cover...

1. if it covered the shocks and/or
2. it covered the gearbox....

I think the gearbox may go before the shocks...... i heard they (the shocks) need rebuidling at around 36-50k  though...

I have picked up a broucher from my local service station. The extended warranty works with the existing warranty and covers the same parts as the standard warranty..... this includes 'suspension'.

the problem is as Oliie says - it doesn't cover normal wear and tear! so they could try and avoid paying for things by saying its normal wear and tear as things are over 3yrs old?!?!?!

It would be interesting to see what would happen!

I don't think you'd have a hope in hell of getting them to sort anything to do with the dampers after three years, remember those poorly fitted sleeves on the rear.
