Hi,

Has anyone had the experience of losing a lock nut key (standard Clio Trophy). I have contacted renault and they have stated 6 weeks for a new key. ( how long )

I have heard that Volvo have a generic one for their cars and was wondering if there was the same for Renault that they don't tell you about.

Any help would be much apreciated.

And there not generic on Renaults unless its a Gaitorgrip!

P.S Do you have the locking whell nut number!

Should start with FER or FE and will be found in the front of the service book!

Ive seen a garage hammering a tight socket over lockers to remove em, i spose it'd only work if theyre not too tight though.

It costs around £15+vat and is a company we use to make all our customers locking wheel nut keys for the ones that have lost them! As from Renault they take up to 6-8 weeks to get hold of as they come Italy!

We can only get them made as long as you have the key number ( Starting FE or FER ) example: FER1234

Yep, but with ours i think you have to remove the rotating outer ring first, can of worms comes to mind.

Hi,

I have managed to get in touch with the company in Italy and they are sending the key tomorrow morning (Courier).

NOT IN 5 - 6 Weeks that Renault advised me with.

You simply need the FER number on the inside of the book in the car.

The company is Farad, Italy
Email is info@proexportfarad.com
Tel 00390362354842
Cost Euros 29.50
You can pay by credit card not by cheque as it states on the fax.

Hope this helps someone.

I just wanted to let people know that thanks to jsthomson's advice on here I've just got 2 replacement locking wheel nut adapters direct from Italy off the farad website. £25 delivered and only took 5 days. Better than 5 weeks!!
