Does the rear beam need refurbishing in Trophies?

As above.

In 205 Gti's it is something that needs to be done at some point as the trailing arms wear out where the bearings sit, as a result they pit and you get negative camber and the beam is not workign as it should.

I know the design between the 2 cars is different though as the 205 doesn't have rear springs and the role of the springs is played by the rear beam torsion bars which are inside hence the need to rebuild.

How exactly is the design of the Trophy rear beam?

Cheers.

The rear axle in the 182 is a solid axle one piece, the only issue you will most likely get is is you have a smack on one side and you get a bend in the beam.

The other issue is rear axle bushes or trailing arm bushes whatever you like to call them, mine are starting to perish/split and there a bugger to remove and fit new ones without special tools and even then there still not easy, there of a similar design to a ford fiesta mk4.

Other than that wheel bearings are part of the discs the springs and dampers are separate, there is a marginal area for wheel alignment on the rear but its fixed so non adjustable other than camber using shims.

Oh and the anti roll bar built in is welded in place so that fixed too.
