Is it just my PC World pile of parts or does the ClioTrophy forum have the same effect on your computer? i.e that the Hard Disc Drive whirrs soon after logging in, and then winds down on logging out? How am I supposed to listen to quiet passages of Sibelius Violin Concerto while I am working haha.

Topic moved from Clio Trophy Discussion...

Got no problems with the forum here - what spec is the computer, perhaps the xmas snowflakes are slowing things down?

Otherwise, my first suggestion would be to ensure the computer is virus and spyware free.
AVG is a decent virus scanner, and Ad-Aware and Spybot are useful for cleaning spyware from your system - all have free versions available.

I have the AVG and also AVG Spyware (the bit I have to pay for) I have never paid for the AVG anti-virus and have recently downloaded the new version as the old one is not supported after January if I'm correct.

Just whirred for a bit, then ok again. Seems to be iTunes or CT forum that are the main culprits.

Not really that bothered, just a point that's all.

PC spec wise, it's much faster than my old one and about a year old. Not really any recollection of the spec but P4 and maybe 1gb RAM if that makes sense.

As a recommendation, I do like the AVG anti-spyware and quite prepared to pay for it.

That's good, a decent spec machine and "clean" so that won't be the source of the problems...

Not sure what would be though!

Get a Mac! Viruses? Pah! What Viruses.

Nik did mention that the snowflakes are very RAM hungry which is why they stop after two minutes. Might be the reason.
