Hello!
I'm a 182 owner looking to buy a Sachs unit 36kmiles old, the seller said they're in perfect working order with no leaks.
Are they any tests or checks I can do on those to make sure they're actually in good nick, I obviously don't expect them to work like knew but at least to postpone the rebuilt for a while.......
Except for pushing down on the wings and do the bouncing test, is there a way to see if the gas pressure is OK ? I read somewhere you can check a "gap" in the reservoirs, Is that true?
I'm totally new to this, It'd be great if anyone could post a picture and clearly explain it?
Plus, feel free to comment and suggest about the purchase! thanks!!!!

IMO, press down on the front corners. If it feels soft, they need doing. If they're hard. They should be fine. Also, check the bridge to the external oil bath, there should be approx a 5mm gap. If not they have leaked, and need refurbing.
