I did think about relocating the drain holes but haven't tried it yet.
Glad the epoxy trick worked out for you !!

An update on my own pre- group buy set. my last issue was that the passenger pin had been drilled directly over the ball bearing location. meaning that the ball bearing would fly out when adjusted. Followed @Rik Perry advice and filled the adjuster knob holes with some epoxy filler.. Worked a treat. So now have a pair of fully depinned shocks... next up trying to remove (and salvage) the stickers for a better protection paint.

@dablk can still do replacement Sachs stickers if you need any. I note the group but ones still have the old style sticker.

Today has seen Nik & family travel down from Falkirk, pick up three pairs from Ben in the Lakes, then continue their journey down to the south coast, stopping en route to drop off two pairs with me.

Nik has kept one pair which he'll be gifting to @tucker220 when he's up in Warwickshire in the coming days. Talk about going above and beyond. I'm overwhelmed by his generosity, a Trophy hero!

So I now have all pairs for the south in my possession. There is one mis-matching pair (one silver, one grey) so unless anyone would like to request that set, in the interests of fairness I'll draw lots and assign everyone with a pair.

I've already been in touch with Pete who will be collecting 5 pairs for the Bristol/Somerset contingent.

Mark - I'll put yours to one side and we can get together when you're over for the FoS, or Wales in September.

Andy T - one of my good friends lives in Old Woking so I can ask him to take care of your pair for you, if that would be helpful? Certainly closer than Newbury.

Andy E - I'm considering a trip to Wales in the next month or two, or I have family in Nottingham in case you need them with your car? Failing that I'm sure we'll bump into each other at Castle Combe, and if all else fails then WW18.

James - I'll be heading up the A34 at 7ish on Saturday morning. Appreciate it's early but it could be an option?

Rik - as above. If not, my folks regularly traverse the A43 on their way up to the M1 and Leicester, and I'm sure they'd be happy to assist with deliveries ;)

If anyone is keen to get theirs ASAP then let me know, but otherwise I'm happy to hold onto them until a convenient time can be arranged.

Cheers, Tim

@Claude, thanks Tim! Superb job getting all of this sorted and doing so much of the leg-work to get each set distributed to it new owner. Can’t wait to receive my set when Pete collects (thanks @Pete O’Connor) [emoji106]

Hi Tim, thanks for the update and holding on to the items. I will be around the Salisbury area the 6th,7th and 8th of April and I think you're only about an hour or so drive away? I may well be able to pop over and collect them. If not there will be plenty of other opportunities as you say yourself. Cheers!

Hi Phil (/all),

Drop me a message with some dates and I'll tell you whether I can do morning, afternoon or evening.

In general I'm around most evenings in the week once the kids are in bed, and weekends too.

Massive thanks to Nik for meeting with me yesterday to take 3 pairs with him on his travels South. Top bloke. If we can ever return the favour, just ask.

I now only have 1 more set to distribute from the North group, this is being arranged for this weekend.

I’ve been in contact with the suppliers, they have apologised for the mistake and have agreed to collect the dampers and refund the costs. Unfortunately, Simon has missed out due to this mistake which is really annoying, I have refunded Simon and will continue to chase the refund from the suppliers. They have responded quickly to my emails and have requested package weight and size so collection can be arranged, hopefully all will be resolved soon.

Just wondering could we make a matching pair with the ones down south which are mismatched colour wise?

Unfortunately not. Claude only received 1 damper which was silver, this was a passenger side damper. I also received 1 silver which was a passenger side, I’m sending this back to France so that all other pairs are matched.

Only receiving 1 silver out of the 22 sets is better than I expected to be honest. I hope that everyone involved has read this thread from the beginning and realised that it was a possibility that a matching set may not be received.

If anyone is looking to repaint their set then I would suggest opting to take the mismatched set from Claude. If no one offers to take it then I’m sure whatever system Claude has in place is fair and whoever gets it will be random.

If whoever receives it is not happy then I’m sure someone from the reserve list will be happy to buy them at that price. They should be offered to Simon first if this is the case. They’re an absolute bargain even if they are slightly different shades.

Absolutely this. Different colours / shade is not a big problem in my opinion. We really landed on our feet with this group buy at the end of the day.

6 weeks ago anyone on here would have paid that for a brand new set even if they were painted purple and orange.

yeah its frustrating when 12 others wont so I think you lottery idea is a sound one. I also think TIm (claude) should be removed form the lottery due to agreeing to help Ben deal with it all.

I can imagine the only person that would really kick off is one with a concours entry example.. (not seen anyone with one of those recently). Or someone with plans to flip.

I dare say most of us would have paid a lot more for new set even if they were different shades. Not even a long term owner would notice the different colours once they’re on a car.

One happy Trophy owner here!

Thanks again for the incredible service @Nik and thanks to @Paul Morris for finding these, the early buyers for building confidence, @BenG for putting the group buy together and everyone for making it happen.
