Just to keep you all updated, I need to unwrap all 26 separately wrapped items:

While I'm hoping to do that this weekend I do have plenty on, and it's Mother's Day on Sunday, but rest assured it will be done ASAP.

Once we know what we've got then I'll need to arrange the transportation of 'some' from the north down to the south, hopefully via Ben and Nik.

Then I'll update you all and we can start discussing plans for onward distribution/collection.

Thanks for your patience

Good work @Claude. Pete O’Connor will be in touch to arrange collection of the five sets bound for Bristol/Somerset based owners, potentially towards the end of next week [emoji106]

I was sent 9 sets and 2 dampers which fit on the passenger side.

Whoever was last on the list it doesn’t look like you’re going to get a set, sorry. I’ll contact the suppliers today.

I’m not sure it’s going to be worth sending them back either so I may have to refund that person and take the hit.

That’s a shame. I think you and Tim have done a sterling effort to get it this far.. There was always the potential for a bit of luck of the draw with these. I hope whoever misses out understand that.

I wouldn’t leave yourself out of pocket though. Appreciate the language barrier but they need to sort it. If they can’t then they need to refund you a set and organise a return. It’s not as if it’s a subjective row about paint colour/scratches. It’s the wrong item.

If nothing can be resolved then I'm sure those who receive a pair will be happy to contribute an extra £20 to ensure nobody is left out of pocket.

Plenty of other avenues to explore before then, good luck!

Exactly what he said. As a group we’ve handed over £10k+. It’s a genuine mistake. There’s 2 things the seller should do;
1. Refund for a set of dampers and arrange to have the odd set returned to him.
2.Refund for a set of dampers and he lets you keep the odd set. After all they’re not much use to him.

I'm sure it's sortable. If not I'll just swap the adjuster to the other side. Little work but doable

Who was it that had the odd one for sale and what side was that? Not ideal but another option to consider rather than someone being disappointed.

Thanks for the support. It will get sorted one way or another, I’m not worried about it.

I contacted the suppliers and they responded straight away. They apologised for the mistake and are happy to refund the costs, they’re currently looking into it and seeing if there is another damper to match.

Even as an odd pair they’re probably worth more than what was paid. I have to make a decision to keep them or not.

An update on my own pre- group buy set. my last issue was that the passenger pin had been drilled directly over the ball bearing location. meaning that the ball bearing would fly out when adjusted. Followed @Rik Perry advice and filled the adjuster knob holes with some epoxy filler.. Worked a treat. So now have a pair of fully depinned shocks... next up trying to remove (and salvage) the stickers for a better protection paint.

Also anyone got any thoughts on if its worth filling the gap between the cup and the strut. it can hold a reasonable amount of water below the line of the drain hole. cant imagine its a benefit on cars which may sometimes sit.
