Do we have conformation of the prices actually achieved at sale of the very best of these cars?

CC has had some great results but Sam’s car is exceptional and probably the best that we have seen on the market for some time.
At 20k plus it is currently for sale and I hope he sells it to set the new benchmark.

Pulling my previous experience of taking a 182 to a very high standard to meet a collectors criteria I would budget at least 5k to get this car to a level I would be happy with.
Personally If I didn’t have my really nice example and was in the market for one now I would have run out of puff bidding on eBay.

Having said all this we cannot underestimate the pocket depths of the very serious collectors who just want the best of a certain genre of vehicle at any cost which blows all our thoughts and comments out of the water.

I’m pretty sure it’s on here somewhere but I’ve posted so much trash over the years I can’t find it! I took the picture with a phone that will no longer power up and saved (I think) on an old works computer.

Not sure - but i‘d be sure they didn’t pay more.

i’d also bet it still wasn’t as nice as the Pitlane car but the DVLA won’t reduce the owners from 6 to 1 by telling them about it’s lovely condition

My view would be a good few thousand more - but with the seller seeming to be a little illusive and making it difficult to view the car then the final price is in his own hands - like we said earlier in this tread the car needs viewing to establish it’s condition and originality and even after having a Trophy for 6mths myself I wouldn’t be confident of viewing it without taking one of you experts with me - CC would have achieved a higher selling price I’d say as it is a specialist sight with a more descriptive write-up and more than 6 pictures.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts. The photos make it look to be in better (less rusty) condition under bonnet than the 55k miles one that sold for around £12k after fees on CC recently. I guesstimated at 15-20k as it has the low mileage and owner count which makes it as desirable on paper as the one Sam has for sale at ~£23k, but it definitely needs £5k or more spending to get it up to that standard. As with any car, it needs to be advertised and sold properly to make top money (but especially so with this type of car), the vendor will only have themselves to blame for leaving £££'s on the table if it doesn't make at least £15k, IMHO...

All of my current / previous personal 1 owner cars have needed decent work to get to the level I want them.

It’s so uncommon to find a 1 owner car that doesn’t need some form of work. Even more so to find a 1 owner car with such low mileage. Owners over time often won’t service them yearly, or refurbish the wheels when needed or maintain the car the way they generally should!

I’ve found with the prestige market the cars with more owners have far better service history and typically are in better condition.

With ‘collectible’ cars you’ll find they change owners consistently and always will, look at the 5 owner sub 1k mile Clio V6 that sold recently.

I completely see why people talk about number of owners, but the best car I owned was a 64 plate and had 7 owners when I bought it in 2019.. it’s been sold twice since then!

There are exceptions and I have one available currently, a 1 owner EP3 Type R in stock which has been over serviced by Honda every year from new and is absolutely perfect!

And like you mentioned above you can still send money to make them right but unfortunately you can never spend money reducing owners

I am friends with the owner of the dealership and apparently it sold at that price.

Well it’s become obvious he is shielding the car to a certain extent, eBay sale, no questions answered and the above and is just using the bullet points to sell the car. It’s Been pretty successful I guess but as a friend said in a message, forking out £14+k on a Clio that needs to be trailered away is pretty risky.
let’s hope the buyer gets a gem though, if a little tarnished.

Been waiting for photos of the suspension for some time now. But I’ve been told I should receive them today.

Ultimately if it ends where it does currently I think it’s the right money for someone to tidy up over time and will make money if that’s what they’re looking to do.

I personally see £4K + to get it to the standard that I would want it. That’s with the bits I can see.. these costs would no doubt rise when seen in person!
