182 Gearbox

Firstly... I am not sure I need a new gearbox however there is oil leaking from the bottom of it quite bad when the clutch release bearing went bang ...

If I do require a new gearbox I understand there are different types ? If so how many different types are there and how do I find the correct one for my car?

Lastly.... anyone got one going or know of anyone ?

Agency Transmissions are an option for refurbishing the 'box. Worth checking out.

The gearbox number is etched onto it, the 182's have the JC5 130 box. The earlier boxes that are in 172's are JC5 129 and JC5 089 which have a speedo drive.

You can get a second hand gearbox for around £300
Or you can get your box refurbished.

I would go with what Claude has said as i have heard nothing but amazing stores regarding Agency Transmissions.

They carry all the parts in stock and i believe they can refurbish the box within a couple of days.
