looking around to get a kit for mine and my mates clio'

i see "SKF" and "continental" at euro car parts

i think the OEM ones were master grip or gates

can anyone confirm whats good, and not good to use?

where is the best place to buy one from?

what sort of prices should i expect to pay?

would like an idea of pricing for

timing belt kit

aux belts

dephaser pulley

and is there anything else im forgetting?

thanks :)

I think you will find 'gates' make a lot of OEM belts,so i would go with gates also.

Dont forget the two bungs for the camshafts gearbox end.

this sounds interesting

what kind of discount? available to anyone or not?
where did you have it fitted? :)

thanks again everyone.

if anyone else has any other or better suggestions, open to all :)

had no idea that continental was crap for belts!

ive actually just had the belts replaced on my other car (no timing belt, its chain) but the alternator and AC belt renewed with continental ones.

are the gates kits only available through renault? or elsewhere?

obviously looking for the best deal, as everyone would do haha.

Got staff discount through a friend but not sure what percentage that was, think it was cost + 10% where it's normally cost + 30-40% to the public. There does seem to be some Genuine Renault kits on Ebay £200 for both and Dephaser for about £140 at the moment.
Got mine done by a ex-renault dealer in Stoke-on-Trent but lots of people recomment BTM if your close to Birmingham.

Dont forget the correct locking tools if you are planning on doing it yourself ...

Perasonally, id rather just pay the extra money and get a PROPER specialist to do it.
