Has anybody got experience of fitting 172 alloy wheels onto a 182, or Trophy specificly.

Want to get a set of wheels for track use, have seen loads of 172 cup turini wheels for sale at reasonable prices.

Know that the 182 uses a 45mm offset and the 172 uses a 38mm offset, does it make a difference on the Trophy. Had Vauxhalls in the past and if you did not stick to a 49mm offset it handled like a dog (not that they really handled anyway, before anybody says it :D )

Also is it worth going down to a 15 inch wheel?

Any personal experience as to a set of track day wheels?

yes, the turini's were my first set of track wheels. They'll fit ok although, just, but you really need an offset of ET45, it's handling was effected slightly.

I'd always recommend going down to 15" for track wheels for a few reasons, mainly that they are lighter, fit into the boot a bit easier and there's a wider range of track tyres than in 16". Plus they're cheaper.

From what i have heard CUP turnini's rub slightly on a 182, especially if lowered. dont know how true this is though.

As said the 15'' OZ F1's are ideal wheels and cheaper.

Thanks,

Will keep eye out for a set of Mk I wheels else I might go for the speedline 2118 with a 42mm offset from yozzasport

We'll see for how much I can get the 172 wheels for.
