Nipped out today at about 2 o'clockish, just to go to the shops. So the tyres didn't have any time to warm up (engine running at full temp), anyway i was just coming up to a roundabout to double back on myself, went in to the roundabout nothing crazy normal speed and the car just started goin...
As stated in title what shall I opt for as next motor?
R26
Pro's - handling, style, extra room (enough for a bike), 230 bhp, warranty, 57 plate
Con's - build quality, renault deprciation
350z
Pro's - more style, rare, build quality, performance, handling, engine, holds value
Con's -...
Ok this is quite interesting (i think anyway)
So what is my dream next car?
And what's yours?
I'm not talking supercars, but in the real world what are you thinking of getting next.
I can see me getting one of these in the next few months, so I'm going to give one a go tomorrow at the local Renault dealer. I'm hoping it'll be the perfect car for me -
I love the way the Trophy handles, but I don't like the relative lack of power and torque.
I loved the way my Focus RS...

Hello All,
I am a Renault hot hatch enthusiast. I used to own a Williams and a Trophy and have just finished with an R27 Clio F1 for 3 days.
I used to bang on and on about how great these cars were. They are and I still do. But just to clear things up, the Clio F1 is simply awesome too...
Chelmsford driving past the Audi Garage on the dual carrigway Saturday 17th November.
Who was it.
Weird becasue at the same time there was a RB 182 that was in front going up to the A12 jucntion, a Blue 197 that had turned of towards the town, a Megane F1 in LY and a Williams 3 I think...
When Clarkson was putting the old CTR on the track against the new one.
Wasn't too surprised that the old one trounced it, because when I had a quick look at one the other day, it looked a bit podgy. I wonder how the Trophy would compare in comparison. Would be fairly interesting to see as...
Now that the 197 Cup has arrived I intend to buy one in the new year. This will mean that my beloved trophy will have to go, as (as much as I have tried) I can't find the funds (of justification) to keep both! So I'm putting him up for sale soon :( . If there is anyone out there who is...
Having had a plethora of hot hatches (and having the Trophy for 1 week) I can honestly say that i don't think that you could do much better than a trophy for everyday use. I traded in my Elise for this car and I believe its quicker!
More than anything you get the feeling from the driving...
From my Glass's Guide advert I have been promised this car. It may be of interest as it's nearly new.
2007 Sept 57 Megane R26 in Liquid Yellow. Xenons and Decals. 600m It's surplus to requirements to current owner and in as new condition. I have advertised at £17995 which is a good price...
Due to a change in circumstances (I need rear seats) I have for sale my ex Motor Sport Vision half cage.
This is as fitted to MSV's Clio and Megane trackday cars.
Easy to fit, just bolts in to existing seatbelt mountings - yes it's really that simple!!
Due to it's bulk...
I will be tentatively selling the trophy due to needing a bigger car :(
I've only had this beauty for 5 months but I need something with a bigger boot and 5 doors (looking at a Megane 225 Cup). I have personally done 5500 miles and the owner before did 10000. She's currently got 15,500 on the...
My drivers door on the Trophy is catching the bodywork and causing the paint to chip off on the door and body. I took it to my local franchised bodyshop and they said it would be covered under warranty but I would have to take it to Renault garage to get approved then past back to them.
Three...
Has anyone else read about the JDM Civic Type R and getting a bit tempted?
Autocar clocked it doing 0 - 100 in 15.98 secs while the Megane R26 clocked 16.66. Not much in it but interesting all the same.
EVO gave it a good review too, hailing it as the best Honda on sale at the moment. I...
Steve's old Trophy is quick, but got me thinking who has done the most mods to their Trophy.
If you want to add to thread just summarise with approx cost...
I HAVE A BRAND NEW TYRE ON A STEEL WHEEL SIZE 175 75 R13. This was of an old shape megane but fits any renault! Which is the same circumfrance as clio trophy/172/cup alloys would be better than tyre weld as a spare offers around £20 postage extra!!! see photo havent cleaned wheel would polish...
Hy all Im looking to chage my car to a Clio Trophy.
I currently own a Megane 225 but need to change it. Is there anyone in the N/W selling there car. If so please let me know.
Thanks,
David :D
Hy all.
Am currently an owner of a Megane 225 and am looking to change my car soon.
Have been looking for a R26 but due to a change in circumstances I think its gonna cost to much. So have decided to look for a Trophy instead. I used to have a 172 before the Megane so I suppose it is a...
hi all, im just after a little info, im looking at a new type r and they have given me a figure for my trophy. but it doesnt seem enough.. its an 05 32k mileage mint condition any ideas on a value?
cheers
Well, it's been a day of mixed emotions and 500 odd miles in 2 very special cars. I left Brighton this morning and took a roundabout route to Cheltenham via the A272 (one of the best roads in the South of England) in the Trophy and even in the completely atrocious conditions I still had a very...

My car is now back from Ben, who fitted cams, modifed inlet and a re-map. His only concern was that as the car has only done 4,000 miles, all on the ex-factory full synhthetic oil, that the rings may still not be fully bedded in - wants me to use ordinary mineral for a while - and so installed a...
