Washed the car off under the bonnet and the car has developed a constant misfire, sounds like it's running on three cylinders... i've checked all the HT leads at the coil end and various other multi plugs for moisture but none found.
Anybody got any ides please?!
well, all i've got to say is, that if you're getting more than 250 to a tank then you're drving like pussies!!! buy a diesel and let a real petrolhead enjoy your car...
I'm thinking of booking a trackday soon....
Apart from the obvious things like insurance, helmet etc
I was wondering if any of the trackday veterans on here could give me any advice.
I'm looking for info' like, what should i take with me? Do i have to tape my lights? Do i have to fit a tow...
Is it just me or does anyone else get treated like a total tw*t whilst driving their trophy?
On numerous occasions i have been driving the trophy well within the speed limit and have been abused by pedestrians, to whom it must appear i'm travelling much faster than i actually am.
It happened...
230 miles is my average. best i've seen is 242 miles, running religiously on v-power, trying to drive easy, but you know how it is....Don't ever get above 28mpg on computer
I've recently fitted Brembo HC's, Ferodo DS2500's, Moquip braided lines and Dot 5.1 fluid and have to say that the difference is staggering.
All the parts were acquired from Yozzasport for £200.
The brakes are now so strong that i can get the tyres chirping under breaking at unbelievable...
I personally would recommend 'Sonus der Wunder' polishing microfiber towels.
Been using these for a while now and the results are astounding, used them on my mums Permaguarded twintop aswell and the car looks superb when finished.
Would avoid those blade things like the plague, unless you like...
Whilst fitting my new Yozza Brembo / Ds2500 pack this afterrnoon, i thought it would be the perfect time to whip out my damper pins.
Quickly got the passenger side done, undid the grubscrew, levered the cap off, knocked the pin upwards and refitted the cap, hey presto!!
However, when i...
I've had this problem too, on a long left hand motorway slip road i use, i had convinced myself that it was oil starvation (due to pick-up pipe being on the left hand side of an unbaffled sump??) am i worrying too much? have been taking it easy since,,
Step 2 completed today,
Had my car 4 wheel aligned at the excellent '4 wheel alignment centre' in Liverpool.
The difference is amazing, car is less twitchy under braking, less torque steery under acceleration and feels better in the bends to boot.
It turns out that the arse in the van who...
I was driving down the M6 yesterday and got thinking about the feasability of fitting a six speed box in the little beast.
Would this be possible?
I know they used six speeders in the Cup cars, but they were sequential and expensive, also probably not ideal ratios for the road.
How about a...
Car looks sweet Oliie!!!! especially considering the milage...
did you get stone chips sorted prior to the permaguarding?
Secondly, what mods have you done to car?
I was unable to find much on your garage profile...
Whilst fitting 2 new Miche's to the front of my car last night , i noticed that the front springs on are a bright yellow set of Eibach's? is this OE / standard equipment?
Gareth, so you'd recommend getting the camber done then? just the fronts -2 or would you suggest i get the rear done aswell or leave as factory?, i was thinking about getting the 4 wheel done, having toe adjusted and if different having the camber on the fronts set the same and with as much neg...
Something else i've done, is alter the tyre pressures, from the recommended 33/30 to 28/27, this along with the increased tread depth has transformed the ride.
Not sure though, whether 28 is a little too low, tyres not scrubbed in properly yet to really tell...
Just another thought, is it...
Well the first step was completed today, fitted my new exaltos.
Tried our usual tyre suppliers (as the family are in the trade) however none of our suppliers could get hold of any, due to Michelin being out of stock, so i tried Mytyres, and guess what only 50p (including VAT and delivery) more...
sorry Oliie, hadn't realised that this thread had been updated..
No progress to report of as yet, in all honesty an install of that calibre is beyond my limits at the moment, but i have got a few ideas.
I know they're not great, but i do have a set of Infinity Kappa 6" x 9"s currently on loan...
So to summarise,
For the front i'm looking at -2.0" camber (using Camber bolts!!) with 10' of toe out.
The rears should be -1.75" camber with with 20' toe in (as per manufacturer settings).
Does this seem right, or have i grabbed the wrong end of the stick??
Any idea of best place to...
Going to get my car 4 wheel aligned next week, after i have fitted a new set of exaltos.
This is to try and eradicate the twitchy, 'searching' feeling i'm getting under hard acceleration and braking.
Can anyone help me with the following:
1, What is exactly adjustable on the trophy? Front /...
Well i was wondering how long it would take for me to see another Trophy whilst in mine....
As i have only ever seen one Trophy in the flesh before and that was back in the summer at Tuner GP at Snetterton, i was thinking it would probably be a while, but today on the way home from the gym...
