    Intermittent Oil/Stop Light

This is what I think it is - garage has replaced the pressure switch (again), taken it out for a spin and tell me it’s all good. I’m sceptical but hopefully it’s that simple. I shall vow never to buy euro car parts over OEM ever again….

    Intermittent Oil/Stop Light

Well, I got the jitters and the AA recovered me to a local garage. Will let you know what’s up when I know for interest sake.

    Intermittent Oil/Stop Light

Good idea - what would oil pressure be at idle and under load, or is it the same for both?

    Intermittent Oil/Stop Light

So I can’t get rid of this annoying stop/oil light. How likely is it that it’s electrical over a real oil pressure drop? Can an oil pump ever be intermittent or are they go/no-go kind of things? I’d hate to be doing the engine damage if it is oil starving but it’s kind of ruining the enjoyment...

    Oil / Stop Light

Ah, the level sensor, not checked that one, I’ll take a look 👍🏻

    Oil / Stop Light

So I thought a change in pressure sensor would fix this but it still remains an intermittent fault. Could it now be the oil system itself? Are these cars picky as to what oil is used (if that is even a thing)?

Finally got it off and the induction kit in place.

    Engine Bay Fasteners

Another silly question I'm afraid (can you tell I have more room/time to work on the car?). Engine bay fasteners, most of them are looking decidedly ropey/corroded and I think it would lift the bay immensely to swap them out for new ones. From the standard hex heads, the torx ones and even the...

    Lower airbox pipe

Maybe I just need to put a bit more effort in! Scared to break the tube as it's in very good condition.

    Lower airbox pipe

Good suggestion - can’t feel any clips on it so think it’s just a firm push on.

    Lower airbox pipe

Just swapping over to an aftermarket induction kit for a bit of fun. What's the trick to removing the lower air pipe that runs down behind and below the battery/headlight? I've tried a bit of force but don't want to break it as it's in perfect condition and I think these are difficult to come by'

    Misfire on Injector 4

Great info, thanks. Confident on changing them but never done it before so all insight is appreciated :-) Think you're right, if taking it part may as well change them all and keep in a spares box. I did read that it's a good idea to take out fuse 30 (I think?) and crank it over as that...

    Misfire on Injector 4

So now of the opinion that the misfire reported by diagnostics on injector 4 is indeed a misfire on number 4. If diagnostics show injector misfire, is it definitely this or could it be leads/plugs/anything else? Should I change the injector anyway? How easy is this and how are they numbered...

No sweating under it? I’m always worried a cover will do more bad than good. Tempted with a carcoon instead.

    Christmas Tree Dash Panel

I have had the steering wheel changed for a snappy trimmed one so possible there’s a lose or bad connection. Will check the seat connections too. Glad both are genuine things to check.

Yeah she needs a good blast but we’re dirty Tier 4 plague rats so it’ll have to wait for a bit.

    Christmas Tree Dash Panel

I thought Christmas was nearly over but fired up #384 today and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. The engine light came on and a couple of others. Quick diagnostic told me two error codes, misfire on no. 4 and injector fault on no.4. The lumpiness went as it warmed until it was nearly...
