Good as new my arse
I took my 306 rallye to a chips away place to remove some scuffs, a dent and about 10 stonechips. I told him I thought the small paint pots you can get give a rubbish effect because they don't perfectly fill the chip and they only last a few weeks. "No no we do it properly...
Looks absolutely awesome, I'd love to do this soon but next year its a Honeymoon in Oz. Perhaps 2012.
We went to China last year, from Beijing to Hong Kong. Spent 2 days walking along the great wall and 2 days cycling around Yangshuo which was absolutely fantastic. I'd highly recommend it. I...
I know how you must feel, especially with it being a new car.
I had a DC5 imported a couple of years ago, 8k miles so it wasn't cheap. It got delayed by weeks, partly because when it was on the boat it had been parked up AGAINST 2 other cars and so both front and rear bumpers needed respraying...
I just had mine done and as well as the Cambelt / Pulleys / Aux Belt / Plugs I asked to have the Dephaser pulley changed also.
The Dephaser pulley basically handles the variable valve side of things. I have a mate who'se Dephaser needed replacing recently and he was cursing not having changed...
Hi guys,
I'm just looking into this camber change...
These are the standard geo settings as I can see:
TOE
front toe-out -12'
rear toe-out -0°20'
CAMBER
front camber -0°45
rear camber -1°30'
So aside from the camber is the Toe Out is recommended to be changed to 10 minutes? Isn't it already...
Great, cheers. I notice they sell rear camber shims too, I guess it would be wise to add camber to the rear also to keep the balance similar?
Also... forgive my ignorance but how much is 2 or 3 degrees of negative camber? What are the down sides - uneven tyre wear?
Erm... about 25 ish over the last few years. Came off at Schwedenkreuz last year in another car so if I was a bit tentative around there you'll understand why!
Never checked the geometry? :?: Why would it be out?
V max was probably through the foxhole, I was flat through there about 125mph. Though I'm not sure what I was doing on the approach to Schwedenkreuz, probably a similar speed.
That was recorded with a Lumix LX3 but I forgot to set it to hi def #-o
Tried to use Harry's Lap Timer on the iPhone also and I was very impressed with the potential data you can get but the GPS quality is so poor on the iPhone. Perhaps with a cradle mounted to the screen the results would be...
Was at the 'ring at the weekend, had a fantastic time in the Trophy, definitely the most fun I've had there yet :D
Was hugely impressed with the Pagid Blues, they really did give incredible stopping power.
Got a clip of the last lap of the day, but wasn't the fastest. My best was a 9:08 with...
I'm quite sure the tyres have been replaced in pairs (the rears are still originals!)
I checked the pressures only recently but I'll check them again and see if that could be to blame.
The car's just been to Birchdown for its cambelt service (excellent guys, highly recommended)
While it was there I asked them to look at a dash light I have which is the SERV light and the wet road icon (I assume to do with ESC and ABS). After reading up on here I suggested it could be the...
I took the shims out to fit my Pagids and I haven't noticed any difference in noise whatsoever, sounds like something wrong with your setup, get someone to look at it
No difference really
The main difference in discs is their ability to withstand high temperatures. The rears don't get hot enough to warrant grooved discs.
A different pad compound front-rear will make more of a difference, as it will knock out the brake balance slightly, thereby...
