Went to see it this morning and it's going to take some serious work to get it back to its former glory. It sadly has had a new drivers door after being damaged in situ (the old door had several dents anyway) but electric window not operating from the switch. Other than that it will just need time.
Had a Janspeed system fitted to the Trophy approx. 7 years ago and after months of experiencing a rattle at high revs I couldn't work out what it was. Replaced several bolts in the heats shields, upgraded exhaust mounts, engine and gearbox mounts only to take it to a specialist and diagnosed as...
Sorting through a few bits in the garage ready for the return of the car and slowly going to thin down on some servicing items I have kept.
Set of 4 brand new NGK Platinum Spark plugs £35 posted (have 2 sets)
It's been a long time coming but my pride and joy is being resurrected after being in a bodyshop for almost 2 years having minor bits done as a in between private job.
Have a huge stack of parts to fit when she returns but wondering what the common issues are with these after such a long period...
Have just fixed the seat moving forward after the back is reclined as the memory position piece had broken which has appeared on here before. Got a set of Clio sport seat runners and cured the problem.
The cable is a little fiddly but once you understand where the 2 ends fit you should be able...
Sorry I was meant to meet up with you previously if you still have the springs?
When are you next around in Devon?
I have the clutch being replaced on the 8th of May so depending on the price of the gear oil will also take this off your hands :)
#189 is in (sunny at the moment) Devon
I have found another one lurking in a nearby road but sadly do not know the number.
I recall speaking with the owner a year or so ago and remember the dissappointment on his face when he realised Paignton had 2 Trophys in the same town!!
Left my car in a safe place after the snow in Devon and went to collect it yesterday to be faced with limp mode and EML light on, which also flashed during driving. Called the AA and all they could 'diagnose' was a cylinder misfire and were certain it was the coilpack.
I managed to get the car...

Not sure if this is the right one but no local stock to me, an absolute bargain with the 55% off code and a Bosch unit.

Yes I am with you on the timing, I think mine...
May be down to a missing heatshield by the starter if this has been removed but you would expect this to be permanent rather than intermittent.
Not aware of any hot start issues and never have had this in 120,000 miles over ownership. The immobiliser can be a common issue which is normally...
It's not the immobiliser and the key fault I had years ago, does the light on the dash (the red dot) go out when you put the key in the ignition?
Also may be the TDC sensor which is another potential cause.
Finally got to the bottom of the creaking, it was the Evol dogbone so must have tightened it a bit too much.
Have since replaced all the ARB bushes and the balljoints anyway which didn't cure the problem, but the car is finally driving rattle, squeak and knock free and it drives so, so...
Now sold the steering wheel insert, rear shock fitting pieces and springs.
Still have the top mounts and exhaust left along with the rear dampers and a steering rack.
Just come off the phone to one of our salvage agents and he is in communication with an ex RenaultSport employee who used to source cars for him when he worked in the dealer industry, appears he has a Trophy sealed up with approx. 3k miles so will share a few pictures if he sends any over...
I have a decent set of Cup dampers as spares for when my Sachs are shot but they appear to be holding up well to the elements and were rock solid when I took them off in February. Interesting commets nonetheless and will report back once I've ran mine with the Cup shocks for a week or two.
Had the inner ARB bushes replaced and was charged 0.8 hours labour so a worthwhile trip to the garage.
What a difference, the car feels very tight and precise.
Open the bonnet, remove the left hand scuttle panel that sits below the wipers, just watch the clips on the wing.
Once removed there is an 8mm bolt to remove the pollen filter cover and just remove and replace.
Usually source mine for a few quid, just make sure you get the one for A/C setup.
