Thanks for trying Bearne, but as Tonk said.......genuine tools are paramount on these cars.
Mine was done by a generally amazing mechanic......but the timing is out a hairs breadth. No genuine tools simply cannot take the forces required to tighten and loosen the cam pulleys.....and on these engines, that slight hairs breadth out is enough to feel the effect

Would even consider renting them from someone at this stage. Local Renault will not sell me them. RPD have them but wanted to try the forums first

Yes I am with you on the timing, I think mine jumped 2 teeth on the belt and managed to run it 5k miles without causing too much damage before it finally had to be rebuilt!
