Not posted for a while, new job...
Got a bit carried away last week  having waited a while I have finally become the owner a Caterham 7, a Superlight R400, 4yrs old, 10.5k mileage, pearlescent Snot green colour :D See picture at the bottom.
Picked "SuperSnot" up in Dundee...
Broke my fron splitter this morning :( Very amateur I know.. £150 from Renault for a new plastic one!
Then I remembered this http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=977 which is both cheaper and not plastic. Anything else I should consider before adding the above to the list for...
Got a bit carried away today
My exhaust (standard 'high quality' item) is making strange noises again.. So I concluded something had to be done! Then concluded whilst I am at it makes sense to do something on the induction and ECU side.
ITG panel filter and KTR grp N ECU choices...
Another clip from me, with Renaultsport Clio in it
Goes to show quite much of a hooligan one can be in a RSClio
Not sure about the state of the tyres and clutch after such antics  but that would be to quibble, especially as he doesn't have to worry about such...
Another clip, not only a Renault, but a Clio no less :D It isn't a Mk2 I grant you, but well worth a viewing in my view. If anyone has seen this before apologies.
Clio Maxi, Jean Ragnotti, Rallye Du mont Blanc 1995.
The footage at around 30 secs is just amazing, rest of clip also good...
Had this in the back of my mind for a while...
Am off to Rentech in a few days, Mike reckons half an hour to install.
Anyone got experience of this type of mod? I seem to recall someone doing this, saw mod in garage section I think, but can't for the life of me find it again
Any input...
Check this, seriously impressive

Is a Boeing video taken during testing of the 777.
The testing venue is in Souh America at an airstrip renowned for crosswinds.
Not strictly car related (in the least!) apologies; but I thought it...
I took some time off work, was supposed to be doing some sensible stuff round the place. Kind of got side tracked, but said side track may of more interest to this forum.
Following from previous threads about camber adjustment amongst other things.
Day 1 Permagard treatment...
This a bit a long post, apologies but hopefully of interest to more than just me :)
So I read all of http://cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/viewtopic ... 74&start=0
very interesting, noting the follwing
I am considering going for the 12mm bolts (-2 deg, 0.00 toe-out) but am now thinking about...
Need some new mats in preparation for permagard treatment.
Aside from the Renault standard items (which I have and don't really like) anyone bought anything they feel is a better? Any advise/ideas much appreciated :)
So tickling along this morning on the way to work, dashboard lights up all over the place! ABS warning light, Traction control light (the one that flashes normally) and the Service light all came on, in yellow however not red; but with no "stop" light illuminated.
After a visit from Renault...
A quick question I wonder if anyone could help me with. I have a small problem with 104 :(
Symptoms:
- Under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd I get a noise from under the car, seems to be below and between footwells, once past maybe 4,500 rpm.
- But doesn't happen if I accelerate slowly...
A couple of people mentioned this a while back.
I had the same problem (ie rattle worst when seat right back on rails), tried padding seat release mechanism which seemed to be the problem, it was better but still not right. Off to Renault... after first being told there was nothing wrong (I...
Quick report should anyone be interested
Where to start...
Andy Walsh - the instructor (ex Benetton F1 test driver) nice bloke, laid back and good at conveying complex points succinctly.
Began with the basics, eg how to turn the steering wheel. I knew about pushing , not pulling...
Evo 87 dropped through the letter box this morning; this could be an interesting read I mused...
Very good read it is too; some criticism of for example interior quality and the relationship of second and third gear, which didn't strike me as overly critical, but also 'one or two' ;-) good...
Number 104 signing in, greetings and salutations.
Have been lurking for a while, but thought I ought to register. Had #104 since June, so about 8,900 miles under the wheels now.
Had intended to keep my full fat 182 (with cup suspension) for a long time but then my fiance told me Trophys...
