First time i have ever owned a car since new so not overly familiar with the whole 'Run In' process. I have managed to clock up about 360 miles in 6 days so far. Still trying my hardest to keep it below 3500rpm till i get to 600 then will up it slowly till 1000miles. . .

But what i have noticed amongst my other niggly problems is this! When i have been out on a run, not hammering it just a normal 10 minute drive or so, when i park up and get out i can smell a very faint, almost burning smell???

Did anyone else get this? What might it be? Is it a trip back to the dealer already?

Cheers

That smell is probably a combination of clutch, gearbox, brakes just being hot / "bedding in". Completely normal, I think - I'm still getting it after 1,500 miles and had it on previous new cars.

All gone now though

I had the same and turned out was brake caliper binding ..id get it to garage as sounds the same problem.. i got two brand new calipers fitted and no problems since this end

smell was excessive from mine if not too bad then maybe ok.. but my car did when parked for few days seize brakes so kinda confirms calliper problem.. when inspected a stone chip was also trapped with some tar on it so kinda enhanced smell or burn :D ing rubber
