What is this sensor?

And is it normal for this to leak oil inside it?

Any ideas on cost for that?

Also, I noted a wee plug on the aalternator that has a wired running out of it but also appears to have a stub of a green wire, almost like its been cut off

Can anyone else confirm if theirs is like this and if not, was this a wire? Was it cut off and where does it go?

The oil just leaked from somewhere else and got into the plug.
are you having electrical probs or something ?

Nah mate, the oil is coming THROUGH this plug.

I remember stuff like this working on old fiestas and the like where the switch would leak.

No oil has been spilt here, EVERYTHING is bone dry around it.

No electrical problems at all, just dont like things like this hanging around.

Iirc it's a pressure sensor for the power steering. I had to replace mine. Roughly £60 from Renault. Fitted myself no problem.

hi, from the photo it looks like the P.A.S sensor leaking,this can be a common fault on a lot of cars.
As for the green wire,this is normal on the back of the alt.
