Hey Trophy Community!
I hope you don't mind but I've decided to create a separate post for TrophyTracker related updates and information. The project has reached a fair size now (and represents a significant time investment) hence it helps if I can keep all TrophyTracker related 'stuff' in one place.
In case you were wondering...
What is TrophyTracker?
TrophyTracker is a non-commercial (home-made) project that I started working on in late 2019 as a bit of fun. The aim was simple; to create an online resource that Clio 182 Trophy owners and enthusiasts could easily access to view information about these fantastic little cars. It isn't designed to contain project details and reams of information about each and every vehicle (that's what this forum is for). Think of it as an extended 'register' of sorts.
How Do I Use It?
Easy! Just visit the website URL (below) with your favourite web browser on your device of choice. The web application has been designed to work across a variety of devices - including mobile, tablet and laptop/PC. Older browsers and devices may present a few problems but it should work on the majority of modern devices. There's nothing to join, no account is needed - visit and browse.
Data
This is always a tricky one to navigate, especially given the current regulations regarding GDPR / data protection and the need to ensure websites and associated software are secure, compliant an so-forth. As a result of this the data that TrophyTracker holds is sparse and non-personal in nature - i.e. it does not contain anything that may lead to being able to directly identify a person (or persons). No names, no absolute locations, nothing of that nature. Data is the lifeblood that drives the application and this data comes from various sources - forum posts on here, for sale adverts, Community-contributed information and sources of that ilk. Any information that is gathered is checked before being committed to the database (for the reasons already mentioned). To ensure consistency and security, I am the sole data guardian and the only person with access to the secure server on which the data is held.
Disclaimer
I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information that is held by TrophyTracker, hence data may be stale (out-of-date) and/or contain errors. With that in mind I ask you to please consider TrophyTracker as a guide rather than a true and accurate reflection of the Trophy Community (and its vehicles) at any given time!
The Future
To this point, feedback has been good and the website / application is seeing activity. My plans are to continue developing and evolving (and fixing!) TrophyTracker over time - adding new features, making improvements, etc. As it is a 'free time' project there is no timeline or roadmap for the application hence I'll just see where it goes...
You can access TrophyTracker here:
Many thanks,
Andy
