Just been getting a few quotes for a couple of new tires for my trophy...

Best i've got so far is £176 fitted and balanced inc vat...

Is that a decent price or have people paid much less on here?

are you or do you know anyone who is a member of costco? from memory they work out a bit cheaper than the prices you quote (there is one in central Milton Keynes too).

Including balancing and fitting I don't think you've done too badly there, you might get them cheaper elsewhere but sometimes it's easier to get them from someone local and not go to so much trouble to save a few pennies, although Cue will disagree but he's a Yorkshireman.

I've heard PE2's go for as little as £75 each (inc. VAT) but I don't think this including fitting/balancing which is always at least £5 a corner.

I've literally just bought 4 new exalto's from mytyres.com (having swapped the front's for the rears at about 6k) having covered 11k and they set me back £77 a corner + £30 at a local kwik fit (friend of a friend - therefore safe hands!) for fitting and balancing. To be honest though, given the hassle of trying to fit the tyres in the trophy to get them to the tyre fitters, i'll probably just pay the extra next time.

Just a little off topic - new tyres rule!!!! I'd forgotten how much grip you get with decent rubber. 185 just needs some new pads and discs (and probably a brake fluid change) and she'll be back to new me thinks. :D

I know what you mean here Olly, my tyres are by no means bald but haven't got the miraculous grip they once had, the ESP is having to work a bit more often in the wet now.

Ash87 - post up when you've won the challenge, 298 will need a new set of shoes pretty soon.

If you fancy a trip to Halifax I know a Tyre distributor that's agreed to supply me for £75 each fitted. Used to be the only place I'd go but I gave costco a try and he went mad. I said that it was due to the £5 difference so he then said right I'll do them at £75. Bonus.

I did have them down a bit lower than that also for CS group buy about a month or so back but it never happend :(

I got one for £79.00 from mytyres about a month ago based on recommendations of other peeps on here.
Was very pleased with them, it came earlier than they said too, delivery straight to my office (the girl on reception was a little surprised by guy turning up with tyre though!)

you have to get it fitted though which will set you back at least £5 unless your mates with someone......Costco works out about the same as mytyres give or take a few pence.

Yep that's right, I did a deal with the Renault guys when they did the 12k service to fit the new tyre at the same time :).
So in the long run don't know if it works out much cheaper but was very convenient for me as I just put new tyre in boot when it was delivered and it was done when I picked up car from service, ready to fight another 5,000 roundabouts (it was the nearside front one).
