After much debate over what car to get I finally decided on the golf. Picked it up last Wednesday and loving it so far. The power is awesome and the noise is special.

Trophy was a close second but the golf managed to win :)

Little sunlight to show any cleaning done but for those interested it was washed with megs nxt, polished with autoglym super resin and sealed with megs #21. All done quickly as the rain was coming :(

Comments welcome, apart from Steve telling me how fat and slow it is

To do list:
40k mile service
Road tax
Leather treated
Some sort of cd/ dvd changer as I can't play cd's just now!
Wheels refurbed

Cheers

Looks shiny! :)

How does the 4wd system work on the R32 - is it FWD biased?

Not sure exactley although I've heard people talking about a haldex 4wd diff?

All I know is it is virtually impossible to spin the wheels

It's a bit fat and slow.

No, really lovely car, lovely noise, my old boss had a V6 4motion and it cornered superbly and had a lovely power delivery and that was with a 200bhp 2.9 V6. A lot comfier than a Trophy that's for sure. I was overtaken by four cars on my way back from Wales, they were a Carrera S, a Lotus Elise S1 111R, an Alfa 147 GTA and a MK V R32. They all sounded awesome but the R32 was my favourite and looked pretty solid at 140mph!
