funny noise!

hi everyone, got a funny noise/whistle coming from my dash somewhere when i hit 120mph! anyone had this before? and know how to fix it! it seems like wind making the noise but cant figure out where its coming from!

Its really loud! found it when i was racing a focus st! :lol:

I get this at about 115! Not that i do this on a public highway as it is highly illegal, but would also be greatful of an answer

My money would be on the windscreen wipers or the reknowed bad seal round the windscreen from the factory to be the culprit. :wink:

one of two things, either the wipers as per SpaceMonkey or it could be the little hole in the drivers side wind mirror - on the passenger side it's filled with the temp sensor.

The noise can seem to 'throw itself' so you think it's coming from the dash. A bit of insulation tape is an easy fix for it.

I've just put Bosch wipers on mine and they seem to accentuate the whistle.

At these kind of speeds you are also likely to get a whistle from the door tops (more noticeable at 130 though).

The top of the doors are pulled outwards by the air and created more noise than at more modest speeds.
