The car actually has a full interior inc rear seats. However the buckets do not slide forward far enough to rear passengers. So my rear seats are currently for decoration only lol.
Because of this I’m very tempted to remove them, carpet the rear and fit a Clubsport style rear cage to make it a proper mini R26-R.

Small but satisfying job today. When I originally owned the car I was always careful around the delicate and rather fragile fuse box clip.
These were fragile at the best of times, and sure enough, when I bought the car back, this had been broken off.
I’d been meaning to replace the fuse box for a while but for reasons even I don’t know, I hadn’t done it.
Happy to say these are available brand new from Renault for only £23.23. So today I set about changing this over. I took the opportunity to clean the bodywork behind the fusebox and fabric tape some of the harness where the protection had worn.
I also took apart all the plugs and relays to give the contacts a Fibreglass brush and Refit with contact grease to keep any moisture at bay.
As said, a silly small job but satisfying knowing it’s new and no longer broken.

Since most breakdowns are the result of electrical malfunctions this level of attention to detail in a c15 year old car will pay long term dividends.

That white clip is a known issue for getting damp and the ECU throwing a hissy fit because of it.
If you look at the pin on the rear row, far left, it had some corrosion on it (green staining) and i cleaned all these back to bright copper. Always surprises me how cheaply made the Clios harnesses are too. Anywhere they could get away with not taping, they haven't. I hate this so i added fabric tape where all cables passed through the fuse box. You can see clearly on image 3 where the tape has rubbed away as the wiring enters the fuse box from the top. This is just asking for trouble as these cars get older.
Much easier to prevent it now from becoming a ball ache later.

Yeah the base is £23.23 and part number 8200129134. The lid is separate and about £17 quid i think. Sorry i don't have the number for that bit, My lid was still tidy so didn't bother swapping it.

Finally some stopping power the little Clio deserves.
My pads of choice arrived today, I chose these based on my own experience as I’ve used them for years on my other cars.

I also dropped my black Turinis a the powdercoaters yesterday, these have been black for almost 10 years. They’re coming back silver and shoots add a different look to the little orange box.

Great source of inspiration. I also have an inferno orange clio 182 cup which was released as an F1 edition here in Australia. I am building it up to my ultimate daily driven street spec car as well there is a thread of it on OzRenaultSport.

Managed to go for my first socially distanced drive out yesterday and caught up with @MrBlonde in his minty fresh Titanium and his friend Will in his lovely black Meg. Took a leisurely jaunt out to Bradwell and even stopped for some snaps. So nice to get out and drive for just the enjoyment of it.
Oh and i put my new Pagid pads in this morning so tonight will be some after hours bedding in post lateshift

Cheers @frayz - one of my favourite threads, full of great pics and useful information. The only negative being that it makes me even more desperate to get out for a drive!
Sorry chap, wasn't deliberate. Ive been back at work almost a month now so i was taking the Cayman to work just to get some time in it lol.

I use Pagids recommendation. TBH ive always bedded in as per whoever manufactures the pads suggest. After all its their product and ive never had an issue with Pagid either.

One thing that is quite amusing now. Now ive got the Clio much closer to where i want it in terms of feel, handling and driving position etc. I get in the Cayman and it feels like im a little high. Haha

Indeed but tbh those kinds of speeds are not really acceptable(?) etc etc for most and I know that when Mark Fish bedded in my first pair he used his own method which worked fine.
