It’s not the first time either. Pretty sure someone put some on eBay whilst the group buy was being co-ordinated.

Out of interest, I wonder what they are worth, if someone asked £1500 and they sold quickly. I’ve got no intention of selling mine, but I’m trying to work out exactly how much of a bargain I’ve got

Indeed, but like I said I feel sorry for those that missed out who are genuinely in need. There are many who could have got on the wagon for a quick buck and resisted, I actually considered buying the lot before the GB got up and running.

I'd bet that they didn't sell and the advert was removed when Paul posted the link. Also I'm not sure I understand where you're going with the last part of your post?

Yep, totally agree mate.

I also considered buying 10 sets to ensure the stock was snapped up but it soon became apparent they would all sell due to interest. I wasn't planning to make a profit had I bought the 10 sets; just to basically hold them for Trophy owners and sell on at the price I paid should someone need a set. It's a bit of a moot point now though! LOL!

Ah, just curiousity mate. I’m never selling mine ever (in fact I need to buy the rears ASAP to go with them)...but I do wonder what they’re truly worth. We all know they’re worth more than £477.

If you actually plan on fitting them to a car they are worth nothing more than you paid as that is the value to you.

Very true. Having never had them before I’d say they’re worth more than that to me, but I get what you say. Can’t wait to get them on

I guess people are free to do what they want with their set. I’m sure most of us in the group buy are happy with them and will keep them for the long term, circumstances change for people and I would expect to see some sets go up for sale sooner or later.

As I am currently still £477 out of pocket and chasing a refund for the 2 odd dampers I will find it really annoying to see sets being sold for profit at this stage.

It was always going to happen (units being sold for profit) so I wouldn't be too put out by it. Ideally the units would be offered first to those who didn't make the list (me included, although I got very lucky) but it's a sellers market with these items.

The main thing is many new sets are now with Trophy owners! No doubt some old units will be taken off current cars and sold too so there is still opportunity for those who don't have sachs units to get hold of a set.

Hope you get sorted mate. Not sure what the chances are of brand new ones coming on the market, but hopefully the injection of new ones will mean that some 2nd hand ones will become available.

I still have the 2 spare passenger side Sachs Dampers if anyone wants one.

The suppliers said they would arrange the collection a while back but it went silent. They contacted me yesterday to apologise for forgetting to arrange the collection. I have stated that I will keep them, I figured it’s easier and more reliable to sell them myself.

I just want back what they cost (£240 each + delivery).

Let me know if anyone wants one. I’ll post some pictures up tomorrow.

Hi guys,

a little bit off topic:

Many of you (me with another old pair of dampers I got via facebook included) want their dampers to be adjustable.

Since there is no cheap solution to the problem of the hole in the adjuster cap after depinning (apart from buying the part in an assembly for quite a lot of money or filling it with resin), I thought it would be a good idea to redesign the adjuster cap and 3D print it.

There is a thread about the caps called "solution to adjuster cap problem (hole from unpinning)"

They work perfectly, have a bigger M4 thread and give you the chance of looking at the adjusting mechanism.



If somebody is interested in a set, let me know.

Keep as many as possible dampers alive!
