182 Exhaust

Has anyone tried running the standard exhaust system on a 182 with a straight through pipe in place of the centre silencer?

In the middle of buying a house so can't justify a new stainless system, wondered if this would have a positive effect on the noise!

The standard system isn't particularly restrictive so there won't be any gains other than more noise. Unless your system is rotting through, keep your standard system and start saving the pennies for a new system. You may find a few going 2nd hand.
