Well, it's been a day of mixed emotions and 500 odd miles in 2 very special cars. I left Brighton this morning and took a roundabout route to Cheltenham via the A272 (one of the best roads in the South of England) in the Trophy and even in the completely atrocious conditions I still had a very...
A while ago, an empty stretch of road presented itself to me, so I thought I'd see how fast the Trophy would go. Now, it wasn't the longest stretch of road ever so I couldn't keep my foot planted forever, but it was long enough.
It's not very quick over 100mph, but as it clicked past 125mph it...

To use 100% full throttle, do you have to press the horrible button thing at the end of the pedal's travel down, or will resting the throttle against it suffice for maximum accelerative force?
I can't work out if there's a difference with it pressed or not...
hallo :D
I stopped today to take 4 pics with my mobile, quality is not very good.
I don't know if you have this Focus ST WRC edition in UK, i don't know exactly how many exemplars exist for Switzerland and rest of Europe, in this garage is already the 3th they sell in some weeks.

So I took my trophy down to Mark fish motorsport today for its 24K service and a geometry check. he phoned me up an hour ago and reported a 3/4 of a degree difference in camber angles between each side, so im glad I asked him to check this.
This is the more worrying problem with my car...
I know it was fifth gear but i have to get my fix somehow. Anyway just a sublime looking car but they quoted some bizarre performance figures (very slow) anyone else think it was odd/know any different.
My Trophy has developed a subtle engine fault over the last couple of months. There is a distinct missfire at 2500 RPM (in neutral) and has become a little sluggish under acceleration, especially from lower revs. It sounds rough too. I have also noticed a rumble, in tick-over, from the cambelt...
Has anyone got one of these on there Trophy?
Are they any good? I know the orbsund is the bees knees of exhausts but is it worth it?
Anything come close to the obsund sound for cheaper?
Apart from the itg filter panel is there anything else to modify or is it good in pure form(don't...
My father is claiming there is a "weren't they great" comparative article about the Focus RS and the Trophy in there. He's getting on a bit, bless him, so he may be imagining it.
:?:
I shall find out on Saturday when I pop in.
I was driving down the M6 yesterday and got thinking about the feasability of fitting a six speed box in the little beast.
Would this be possible?
I know they used six speeders in the Cup cars, but they were sequential and expensive, also probably not ideal ratios for the road.
How about a...
Going to get my car 4 wheel aligned next week, after i have fitted a new set of exaltos.
This is to try and eradicate the twitchy, 'searching' feeling i'm getting under hard acceleration and braking.
Can anyone help me with the following:
1, What is exactly adjustable on the trophy? Front /...
...what would you be driving?

Or what are you driving instead, and why not a Trophy?
A very good (enter time of day here) to you all :)
Just a bit of a strange question... has anyone here drive or been in a Lotus Exige?
How was it? Interested in views from either S1 or S2...
Supercharged experiences deserve bonus points!!!!
O.
I was given a spare Exalto for xmas (thanks Dad!), my plan being to have a spare to take to a tyre guy if I need a new one after a puncture.
When returning home today I was surprised how neatly it fitted on the floor of the boot, and this got me thinking.

Hey guys!
After a really easy and pleasant sale with Dallas (duffer) I am now the proud new owner of #154, woohooo! (Cheers Dallas - top guy!)
Thanks to everyone for their help with pointing out cars that were for sale and for giving me assistance with things to look at. :)
Trophy...
hey as some of u know i just got my trophy last week.....so anyway theres a guy in work has a civic type r....it has a full exhaust system, decat and an induction kit....and he wanted to see how it would compare to the clio.
luckily near work theres a private bit of road which opens out into 2...
Saw these on Ebay and thought i'd post the link (have a look at the sellers other items too), if people still want keyrings it might be worth contacting the guy - a little piece of carbon fibre with the Trophy logo would be pretty cool....

What's the most anyone's had out of their Trophy? A friend recently borrowed mine and said he took it up to 155mph with his dad in the passenger seat and felt like it still wanted to go even faster! I know the speedometer reads 160mph but I found this hard to believe as the spec notes top speed...
I know it's a bit unfair because it would still be a little tight, but I can confirm that a Trophy is appreciably quicker up a slightly twisty hill than a 197 :)
Blue one tried to keep up and failed earlier today here:

Can anyone tell me the correct suspension settings for a trophy.
F/R toe, Camber etc as I'd like to check all the settings on my car.
I suspect the 60% worn tyres are contributing to the torquesteer, but would like to check before replacing them.
Note that 7MAT seems to have increased...
Beginning to get used to the power/speed of my trophy now and not far off paying it off in full, fancy an upgrade, i love the handling but would like at bit more power at the top end.
Having looked at k-tech site and Yozzasport quite like the look of a throttle body/ turbo conversion, pref...
I was under the impression that there was only one 06 plate Trophy in the country and that was number 500/500 which was held back to 1st March and given away in a prize draw (Autocar mag i believe)
I have just been informed that this is not the only 06 plater around - just wondering if anyone...
Next car looks likely to be a Clio Trophy, so this needs to be sold:
1700cc tuned crossflow ~ 135bhp.
A very strong and capable engine, the key benefit to having a crossflow is the fabulous sound it makes. It pops and bangs on the over-run, the carbs "spit" at you, and the noise under...
My fronts are going to have to be replaced in the next few hundred miles but I'm wondering whether people prefer putting new tyres on the back or front?
One line of argument suggest they should go on the front as those tyres deal with power, steering and braking whilst others think new tyres...
Test drove a 197 today while my Trophy was in for its 12K service. Dealer allowed me to really 'test' the car, staying away from dual carrageways in favour of a few miles of twisting country roads.
Plus points for me...
Cant argue with the claims of better build quality - it felt like a...
Taking over from Pete G's post in the number plate thread, how does everyone use their ESP? (no responses about extra sensory perception please! )
Day to day driving, I just leave it on, you never know when you may need it's assitance (oil on the roads etc).
When I'm driving hard...
hi guys trying to make a decision as to buy a trophy a type r or a cupra r, would really appreciate some honest advise off anyone mature enough to give it please.
i want to tune the car so clearly the seat has the advantage of already having a blower on it, but on the other hand i want...
