    should I upgrade from a 206 1.1 60bhp to a clio 182 cup?

If you want the "look" of a sportier car without the running costs, then try something like a Saxo VTR. It will be a nice intermediate step before you graduate and can afford whatever you want next. To answer your question, there are many reasons people buy different cars. They may like the...

Found in the non Renaultsport section on Pistonheads!

Well, it has been waxed weekly by a mature lady owner ;-) Seems to have a single wiper conversion and a front bumper repaint. Maybe she was into the whole "scene" thing.

    Newbie question - please help

Increasingly, franchised dealer groups are dumping part ex's through a side business as part of their main business but they don't offer a full warranty on those cars and I bet they won't on this.

    Newbie question - please help

They are going to get so fed up of calls on that car - has it got FSH, have the dampers been done, has the cambelt been done, will you take an offer if I pay in cash ... I also think this will probably end up as the technicians' go-kart for the next couple of weeks!

Good point re the belt(s) Hoolio. It should have had one at 72,000 miles or 5 years - why does it need one now?

    Newbie question - please help

Renault UK have indicated that a new batch of shocks will soon be available but knowing Renault UK, soon could be in 12 months time, maybe longer. The price is also unknown and if it goes back to the original price, it was about £1,200 per side. With the belts, at that mileage you'll probably...

    Michelin PS3 Pioneers

That's a tough call. I must say I am tempted by 195/50/15. It's a shame that they stopped making them in 205 45 16. Lack of demand I assume given that they have continued to offer them in other sizes. It would be interesting if someone could actually hook up a sat nav to see the speed...

Which is why I am planning on switching to Turbines and 15" PE2s all round when my current front PS3s need changing. Still on about 4mm though.

    How Is It Possible

We should try and get a ClioTrophy.net factory tour, take our Trophys to their place of birth and ask all the questions we want (such as does the Trophy have bespoke geometry settings, I have never got an answer to this - Sir_Dave, Hoolio, anyone?)!

    Michelin PS3 Pioneers

Gordon, I think there is a fair difference. The CSC3 won most of the group tests it was in and is considered one of the best of the high end road tyres (although I think there is now a CSC5). I also considered CSC2 but when I have looked at reviews, they were mixed at best. Have a look on...

    Number of Trophys for sale

Depending on which shocks, possibly yes, but by the time you have added the dampers, seats, wheels and spoiler you are probably getting close to negating the price differential between a 182 v Trophy. There aren't many better dampers than the Sachs. I won't bore you with the "used in WTCC etc."...

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Perhaps we (someone?) need(s) to ask Renault UK whether they are waiting on enough orders, waiting for a certain date or whether they genuinely have no idea what the status on dampers is. Someone must control the manufacturing initiation process for specific parts. I wonder if someone like...

Really? That's a hell of a deal whether magnesium 2118s or not as PS3s are £94 per corner at Camskill at the moment!

adding quality to the clios handling since 1993

If you put the Trophy on Turbines, I'd appreciate it if you could send me a pic or post on here as I have a set I intend to use on the T at the next tyre change and would like to know what they look like on a T. Thanks.

adding quality to the clios handling since 1993

I will likely be doing similar on the next tyre change - 195/50/15 PE2s on Turbines. I think the classic motorsport look of the Turbines will suit the Trophy to a "T" (pardon the pun)! Have you noticed a difference in turn in or steering feel?

    Looking at a Trophy...

Looks good on paper. The steering wheel (as on most) seems to have melted, not a biggie. Is the gear gaiter seated correctly? Again, not a massive issue if it's damaged and can be replaced. However, a word of caution and as I am sure you know, cars don't always turn out to be as they appear in...

    Low Mileage Trophy's ?

At about 5,500 miles per year, it will be a good while yet! The engines seem indestructible. It's a keeper so I bought a very low mileage one in the hope it hadn't been messed with too much (and it hadn't) and it has served me without fault for two years, so fingers crossed.

    Low Mileage Trophy's ?

24,865 today. They need mileage apparently. Some of the strongest engines have over 100,000 on them if you believe what you hear.

Don Yes, I am. As we approach another weekend, I should be able to do either Saturday or Sunday, earlier the better. PM me your details and I will confirm the time I can drop by. Thanks.

    Tyres

Gordon It is going to be a bit of a try it and see but I am confident it will work for the better. The plan is to use Clio 16v turbines (6.5 x 15, ET 36). I chose these because they are a "historic" Renault wheel and have a base motorsport look which should complement the Trophy. Ironically...

    Tyres

So four would be almost £468. That is crazy to be honest. I have PS3s and will not be getting them again. Not because they are bad, they are very good but they are missing a little something when you first move the steering wheel. If I had kept to 16" wheels, I would have gone for Hankook V12s...

    Hi all!

172 Cup Speedlines would look even better. Silver wheels would suit the car. Don't go for black wheels please. Every time I see a car with black wheels even if it is brand new being driven out of a dealership, I think "MODIFIED"! You lose all the details/highlights on black wheels, the tyres...
